View Full Version : What kind of contestants are you hoping for this next AI season?
Cactus Jack 12-22-2004, 07:00 PM What kind? I wanna see more guys, more good singers, okay maybe 11 good singers one bad singer. I wnat the right person to win. I also wnat the right people to go through I want people more like JPL, Diana, Fantasia, LaToya and all those others that always had a good performance. I dont want a Leah at all, I wnat Paula to pick a better wild card. I want Ryan to have a new sign off or something. Randy to think of more words to say than dog or dude or yo . Thats all I can think of
David 12-22-2004, 07:07 PM I want fun contestants, people with a good combination -- great personality and great voice, like Kelly Clarkson. I don't want people who are just... there, like Camile. She was never exciting to watch in results shows and stuff. I also want someone different... I don't want another 3 diva battle.
Aside from the contestants, I hope they get rid of those annoying lights around the screen. They're too blinding sometimes. I also hope that they don't do the Group A and B thing (except for in the final 9 round... that was good), it's more suspensful when they just go person to person and telling them if they're safe or not.

Ditto to all that!
Dont want a 3 diva battle? And seeing how much you liked Jasmine and Diana
Jrnygrl 12-22-2004, 07:29 PM No more teenagers. There should be a rule that you have to be out of high school and 18 years or older. Sorry to all the teens! I really hated the cry babies like Jasmine who stayed on because she cried, and LaToya got eliminated because of that.

Dont want a 3 diva battle? And seeing how much you liked Jasmine and Diana Well they weren't in the "3 diva" battle. It was LaToya, Jennifer, and Fantasia. I liked them... but I only want like... 1 or 2 per season, not 3.
And as for the teenager thing, I like having teenagers on the show. For me, they're "funner" to watch, compared to LaToya, who had no personality what so ever.

I like teenagers on there too. But only if theyre as good as Diana or Jasmine, particularly Diana, she probably was the best singer out of anyone in the top 12 this past season best female singer

No. People are allowed to cry. Fantasia was out of school and she cried. They all cried. Okay? Okay.
Now that that's taken care of.
Oh, wait. David, what's wrong with Camile?! :cuss: *flips a *****
ANYWAYS.
It's gonna be a guy, no matter what we want.
Brian 12-22-2004, 08:59 PM It would be nice if they had a rule where contestants can't sing anything that was done on previous AI seasons (especially stuff sung in the prevoius three finals). I want to hear new stuff.
I also hope that when people vote, they vote for people who can SING. I liked JPL at first but now I think he's overrated after watching the rest of the season. I hope the same thing that occured in Week 3 last season won't happen again: contestants who are big fan favorites do horrible and don't get in the bottom three while three good singers get in it instead. It would be great if people voted because they have a good voice not because they are good-looking or just because they are very popular.

But  I liked Camile a lot, I just wanted her to be a little more... expressive. But actually, in a way, it made easier to connect with her.

I agree with the last statement (and the first!). I didn't like how on motown night, the 3 weakest were all safe. I mean, it would've been okay if 1 of them was safe, and that could've been the shocker -- but not all 3. But at the same time, I like some of the "surprises", because sometimes they work for my benefit (Jennifer and LaToya's elimination)
vienna waits 12-23-2004, 01:02 PM Yeah, this year a white guy will win for sure. I want more young females.

vienna waits 12-23-2004, 01:06 PM I'd like to see Paula GONE too. She's the idiot who's responsible for Suzy Vulaca not being one of the wildcards.

NO STOP! :cuss: I love Paula.
Janet McFarland 12-24-2004, 12:03 AM I wanna see more fun contestants, like David said. People like Kelly, who come out on top, that is what an AMERICAN IDOL is. I don't mind the teens, Diana was a teen and I loved her! I didn't like JPL at all, he was WAY overrated. And that is my 2 cents :D
RustyShackleford 12-24-2004, 09:39 PM I know it wont happen but I would like to see a rocker guy, but it won't happen since rockers are hated upon in AI but it would be a different flavor from what weve seen in the past

However, I do like how Nikki managed to do it. (even though she's a girl)

 That's what happened with John Stevens. He was only good for singing Big Band. Everything else..eh. :lookaroun

Ditto
I agree with Brian, and if a rocker does get through I hope they dont have a rock week the week after he/she gets eliminated
stainedbeautie 12-29-2004, 01:45 PM yes to teens
yes to crying
Change the themes, it's the 4th year, we need more variety. I would like to see an older person win for once, between the 24-28 age range. The sex never mattered to me, as long as they could sing. I like how it is mixed with teens and older ones, it makes it more interesting. I mean if you had all older contestants, to me it would be easier to judge who may have a chance of winning. When you have a teen and a legal person in the bottom 2, it's hard to say who will win, especially if both their talent is phenomanal.
As much as I love the judges, I think they should be changed every season. We already know what comment they will have for these contestants.
