Michael [hXc] 12-20-2004, 07:25 PM i'd want to die around 85-90, painlessly and in my sleep of natural causes. And it doesn't matter if you don't want to die, you are one day and you need to accept this! Surely you must prefer some kind of death over another. It's inevitable, so all you can really hope for is to live long and have a painless death. Maybe that's what you want, but it's not what I would want! IT'S ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT COME ALONG WITH LIFE. IT'S ANOTHER ADVENTURE. IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Penny Lane 12-20-2004, 08:37 PM Oh, what a cheerful topic! My dad is dying of cancer at the moment. We, my family and I, ,are hoping that he will make it through Christmas , as he is really looking forward to the holidays . My Mom is taking such good care of him .Yes, one must accept death. But it is not pretty! My Dad accepts it. He has such a great acceptance of it as he truly believes in life after death(as I do!) Right now he is SO much anticipating Christmas as his whole family will be here with him. I only can hope and pray that he will make it through the holiday season. He loves his family and 12 grandchildren so much! ( Not to mention several great- grand children ) My family is absolutely awesome! I am so blessed! Merry Christmas everyone!Yeah! :happyface TheGreatPretender 12-20-2004, 09:09 PM I'd really prefer not to think about that right now. It's not like we get to choose anyways. Mossopp 12-21-2004, 04:19 PM Here's an interesting thought - If you had the choice of knowing when and how you were going to die, would you want to know? Or would you rather just live your life and not worry about time running out? Or would you rather just live your life and not worry about time running out? I would totally want to know. That way I could go around and tell people I like that I like them. For instance, if I knew I was going to die at the end of school tomorrow, I'd tell Mr. Austin I was in love with him, no matter how hard it would be. I would want him to know. Heh, if I was going to die anyhow, I'd probably kiss him too  I am Roboto 12-21-2004, 05:38 PM Originally posted by Brent88 When I'm about 85 or 90 or older(as long as I'm in decent health). Suppose you're bedridden but still have full mental capacity? My opinion is that in 80 or 90 years medical science will have advanced far beyond what we see currently. Same here. Let's spring Dr. Jack. As for age...nothing over 80. That'll probably change when I get older, but right now, I can't imagine what life will be like in 55 years and I don't think I want to know. Plus my folks will be dead and I don't want to still be alive when they aren't. dawsongirl 12-26-2004, 06:56 PM Originally posted by Mossopp Here's an interesting thought - If you had the choice of knowing when and how you were going to die, would you want to know? Or would you rather just live your life and not worry about time running out? Nah...If I knew, I'd just worry all the time. Worrying is more painful than death sometimes. Mossopp 12-26-2004, 08:05 PM Originally posted by dawsongirl Nah...If I knew, I'd just worry all the time. Worrying is more painful than death sometimes. I agree. I'd rather not know. There have been many times where I've been so close to giving up and the only thing that has kept me going is the thought that maybe my life will get better. Not knowing what is going to happen to me has saved my life many times. If I knew for a fact how my life was going to turn out, what's the point in sticking around to see it for myself? If I knew that I was going to die miserable and alone at the age of 30, why would I bother to stick around for it? I'd rather not know and have hope that things will get better, than know for a fact that they won't and just wait out the rest of my life. |
