View Full Version : 12 pains of Christmas
Michael [hXc] 12-19-2004, 06:46 PM which ones apply to you and what do you do about them?
finding a christmas tree - the problem isn't finding one, it's finding one that isn't so damn expensive. or buy an artificial one.
rigging up the lights - my mom does this, so i'm still good.
hangovers
sending christmas cards - i don't send 'em so its no pain to me
5 months of bills - ^^
facing my in-laws - my parents are divorced. no more fights between their families.
charities - no problem to my family. we have so much that we want to get rid of (old toys, old bed sheets....)
whiny kids - spoil them. its christmas :p
no parking spaces -take a handicapped family member with you and use their parking permit.
stale TV specials - i put in a DVD
singing christmas carols - don't sing 'em
:p
Tonyd 12-19-2004, 07:13 PM Christmas Eve will be a pain this year Michael as I have to work overtime! I don't put up lights, send cards or sing carols either. The town is too small to have a parking problem and I don't have in-laws.
Michael [hXc] 12-19-2004, 07:21 PM it seems those pains of christmas aren't the real ones. here are my family's:
1. seeing relatives that bother me
2. putting up the tree
3. buying gifts on time
4. getting to the mall
5. family fights
6. buying enough cards
7. spending not too much
8. shoveling the snow (yes i have to)
9. eating way too much
10. hiding gifts from eachother
11. stupid christmas carols
12. too much advertisement
it fits the tune too :D
Tonyd 12-19-2004, 07:31 PM I can relate to them all (especially relatives I don't like) except shoveling snow, which we rarely ever do here! :D
Tonyd 12-19-2004, 07:33 PM And another irritating thing is having to pretend to get along with relatives u can't stand!

i was gonna say that! you also have to hug them and say "i love you" and you know its coming across really fake. oh well, there are good relatives too :p
Mossopp 12-19-2004, 07:36 PM Christmas just sucks. Full stop.

I have a cousin who I really hate and have actually gotten into physical fights with a couple times. Talk about "Joy to the World."
Belair 12-19-2004, 08:24 PM We've had the same christmas tree for years now,and this year we bought new lights that ACTUALLY work;)
As for what else annoys me about Christmas.....
Shopping Malls: People everywhere in my usually peaceful and quiet shopping mall,no car parks, people killing each other for a car park (Tis the season to be jolly??) long queues at the stores.I sweat to God,people shop like the stores are going to be closed for good-its ridiculous.
KIDS!: Most kids misbehave all year and then they get rewarded!
Christmas Day itself: All the mess my little brothers leave in the living room once they've opened their presents, getting dressed to go and see relatives i dont particularly like.;)
Well i have to admit,i am quite a grinch.Tonight i am going to see some Christmas displays in different neighbourhoods, maybe that will renew my christmas spirit!
Hollow 12-19-2004, 09:58 PM i <3 christmas. doesn't cause much inconvinience for me. it was pretty bad last year though because i was suicidal.

finding a christmas tree - have 2. cool there.
rigging up the lights - not my problem.
hangovers- don't drink
sending christmas cards - Yeah. I kept forgetting people.
5 months of bills - Gawd. What do I do about it? Toss it from one credit card to the other. Don't do this at home kids.
facing my in-laws - as long as I don't have to see my mom's side, it'll be good.
no parking spaces - no place to park...either park on the grass or leave.
dawsongirl 12-19-2004, 10:24 PM If we're bitchin, lemme bitch about the worst thing...idiots who block aisles in stores. And everyone who cannot drive in traffic. Get the hell out of my way right now.
TheGreatPretender 12-20-2004, 02:51 PM Family fights is just part of Christmas tradition. I'm so used to them that I don't get upset anymore.
Sterling Holobyte 12-20-2004, 03:13 PM Here's my twelve pains of Christmas:
1. Mother-in-law
2. Mother-in-law
3. Mother-in-law
4. Mother-in-law
5. Mother-in-law
6. Mother-in-law
7. Mother-in-law
8. Mother-in-law
9. Mother-in-law
10. Mother-in-law
11. Mother-in-law
But the biggest pain of all is:
12. Mother-in-law
musicradio77 12-20-2004, 06:11 PM I've listened to that song many times. I have on vinyl. "The 12 Pains of Christmas" was one of the funniest Christmas songs ever. It was done none other than Bob Rivers along with Twisted Radio. It was from the album "Twisted Christmas".
