Remember to use your "Big People" words!!! :o)

A group of kindergartners were trying very hard to become accustomed to

the first grade. The biggest hurdle they faced was that the teacherinsisted on

NO baby talk! "You need to use 'Big People' words," she was always reminding

them.

She asked Chris what he had done over the weekend.

"I went to visit my Nana." he said.

"No, you went to visit your GRANDMOTHER. Use 'Big People' words!"

She then asked Mitchell what he had done.

"I took a ride on a choo-choo."

"No, you took a ride on a TRAIN. You must remember to use 'Big people' words."

She then asked little Alec what he had done. "I read a book," he replied.

"That's WONDERFUL!" the teacher said. "What book did you read?"

(I love this]

Alec thought real hard about it, then puffed out his chest with great pride, and

said, "Winnie the ****."

One of my cousins refered to his grandparents as "Ma-maw" and "Pa-paw" well into his twenties.

I wanted to strangle him.

But I have to admit that when I first became a grandma at age 41 It was hard to swallow! But I love being a grandma! Funny how I am so much more lenient with my precious grandchildren than I was with my own kids!

 Funny story! Is it true?

:stressed: I hate it when people say Maw-Maw or Paw-Paw...it reminds me of this hick town that I unfortunately lived in for two years...thank God we moved out in April!

Thank you thank you *takes bow*

I don't know if it's true or not. I got it in an email from a friend. If it is true I bet the teacher stopped that soon after lol.

 Great story ;)

I don't see anything wrong with calling grandparents "Maw-Maw or Paw-Paw, if that's what you've always called them, it's become a habit, I still call my dad "daddy" even though I'm now 30 :)

There was another one where the teacher was reading to the kindergarteners the story of the three pigs. When she got to the part where the pig asked the guy for bricks,(whatever,i cant remember what the pig wanted) she said to the kids,"And can anyone guess what the kind man said?" and little Johnny shouts out,"Yeah. He said,Holy **** its a talking pig!"
