Was on his way to a Job interview and then decided to go back home because he figured he wasn't going to get the job anyway so he said-"I fired him before he had the chance to reject me"-HUH????-LOL

James was my favorite character but this is one of his weirdest moments on Good Times

I couldn't figure out that one either. he just had no confidence in his self. As strong as his character was, that was a major blow.

I agree- and it would have been one thing to self-destruct but had been the ONLY one affected but James was always conscious of needing to provide for his family so it seemed TOTALLY OOC for him to have done that with so much riding on his employment!

i watched that ep a while back and i agree with all of you james was always a go getter it didnt make any sense at all that he would give up on trying to get a good job i mean if they recjected him thats one thing but to not even go down to the interview thats not the james evans we know and love. how much do you want to bet that john amos blew the roof off of cbs tv city when he saw this script?
