My friend at work who is a meteorologist says that the North east of the United States is going to get hit with a snow storm. Boston might get the worst with possibly a foot of snow.

When is it supposed to hit? And will I have to go to work on Monday morning?

We're expecting two miserably cold and windy days Sunday and Monday with a few snow showers Sunday Afternoon and Evening. No accumulation expected but I'd like to see it just come down with it close to Christmas.

Yes...it's one of those clipper systems which should merge with another extratropical low around the Carolinas. System will get alot of energy from the temperature differential between the warm ocean waters and the cold arctic air rushing in behind it, and will likely become one of the year's first huge extratropical cyclones...should track up the coast...with the major impact being from Philadelphia/New York/Boston...but its still a little too early to tell the exact track...a slight change will mean a BIG difference with this one.

40. I am not kidding. They were 99 cents, normally $3. A few weeks after that, he went on another rampage buying cans of Pastene tomato sauce, at least 30 cans.

Not necessarily... Christmas isn't until 6 days after Sunday. ;)

The GFS is showing a White Christmas HERE! It shows snow down on the coast from New Orleans to the Florida Panhandle as well starting Christmas Eve Night and ending Christmas morning. Still a lot of time to change but if it happens, it'd be the best Christmas present ever. :D

I wish it would snow in Texas once in awhile. It's sad but people down here are dumb when it comes to driving in either snow, sleet, or ice. They go 60 mph and wonder why the end up in a ditch.

:nod: they do that here too, especially people who drive SUV's and think just because they have 4 Wheel Drive that gives them a license to go as fast as they want when it's icy out, then they end up causing wrecks cause of that :rolleyes:

My husband is the same way! He buys so much stuff when it's on sale and he ends up storing things in closets and in the garage. He usually ends up giving most of it away to our kids , which is good for them!:happyface

yayy!! we were talking bout this at school, it would be spectacular if boston was hit the hardest..or a 20 mins west of boston...thatd be nice...I want a snow day!!!! we already had one day off this week because our school had an elertical problem, and it was amazing, and to having an extra short week, and I have long stats monday, good to miss that!!

The much anticipated east coast storm now looks pretty dead outside of extreme eastern New England. It will be moving very fast and dry air will be quick to entrain behind it, so now big snow will be likely. Also, as it will be moving so quickly...it won't have much time to really take advantage of the temperature differential..so it really won't become all that strong. Outside of the Lake Effect zones...and perhaps the Cape Cod area...no significant accumulation is likely. :D

In Chicago we are supposed to get sub zero temps and some snow possibly by this eve or Saturday.
