Washington, DC has already lost baseball twice (the first version became the Minnesota Twins while the second version became the Texas Rangers) so it in a way, seems fitting that the city would botch up once again. Major League Baseball seems to be bending over backwards in order to bring baseball back to DC (they even have a ready-made stadium in the meantime). I think one major issue concerning the immediate future of the Washington Nationals is having permanent ownership in place (since the Montreal Expos were last owned by the other owners).
