Two cases came into my mind recently, and I'm wondering if anyone remembers these ones:

There is one case of a man who wandered into a Roman Catholic church somewhere in the Southwest. Some parishoners found him dead on the floor, having apparently committed suicide. Anyone remember this one. If so, any update?

There was another case that I only saw once about a German family during WWII who housed some American soldiers who were lost on Christmas. Then some German soldiers came in, having left their weapons at the door. It was sort of a heartwarming story, and I've always wondered if the kid ever had the chance to find the soliders in America later on in life.

Yes, I remember the first one. The man had apparently taken some cyanide in order to commit suicide. I know UM probably didn't want to show any dead bodies, but I didn't understand why they couldn't have shown a picture of his actual face instead of a artists drawing. Its not like his face had any trauma to it. I don't know if they ever found out who he was. That would be a tough thing to find out about on the net, unless you emailed the church where he was found and asked them about it.

There was an update to this story. One of the American soldiers was still alive and I believe someone who worked at his nursing home called UM when they recognized the story. The now-grown boy was able to reunite with the soldier who still remembered him. It was a very sweet segment. I saw it relatively recently, so chances are they'll show it again.

Crystaldawn, I understand the use of an artist's rendering instead of an actual photo. I don't really mind seeing dead bodies (I watch enough real life forensic/investigative shows to be sort of immune to it), but seeing the faces, even with no trauma, really disturbs me. Plus, it would be a real shock if his actual family was watching. Of course, if they're going to use a sketch or sculpture, it should be as life-like as possible.

Im not sure but i think there are privacy laws concerning real dead people, you cant show a real dead persons face on tv because of these laws, i think it has something to do with surviving relatives and a persons rights as well.
