View Full Version : A GAME: Good Times Quotables

Let's get another game going, shall we?

The idea is to post up a quote from any episode, any season, any character. The kicker is that it doesn't have to be from just the ensemble cast. It could be from a extra or featured character from a particular episode. The next poster will provide the answer and then post a quote of their own. You can only post up a new quote if you answer someone else's quote correctly. First come, first serve. So be on your game. One sentence only.

Example:

Post 1 - "You look like the tentpole of a tee-pee."

Post 2 - Florida
"What is men - o - pause?"

Post 3 - Michael
"Chello?"

And so forth.....

The idea is to stump eachother. But let's start off easy and then work our way to more difficult and hard to remember quotes.

I'll start with the first post.

Let's go............

I believe the previous quote was from a Loan Shark to James in "J.J. Becomes A Man"(Season 2). If I'm wrong, disregard.

"Forget perfume, honey. With the price of gas TODAY, I just sprinkle two drops of HIGH TEST behind each ear!!!"

jeffalan: sorry, but that's incorrect.

can't move on to your quote until this one is answered correctly.

still waiting for the answer..........

QUOTE:

"Come to get some of that long green, huh?"

Is it a Loan Shark to Florida in the welfare office on the first episode? If not, I'm stumped.

CORRECT!
From the first episode about trying to get up the rent when Florida was at the welfare office with Wilona. But I think he was a pimp and not a loan shark. Especially with his intro pimp banter to Willona:

Hey there, foxy mama. My name is West. You messing with West, you messing with the best.

Go ahead and post up your quote!

:D

trishalla:
this thread is for a game.

the idea is to post up a quote and see if someone else can answer it correctly. if you answer someone's quote correctly, you can post up another quote. and so on and so forth.

read the first post for more detail

so since the last person who posted didn't add a quote, go ahead and post one up.

see if you can stump us. ;)

That one was "Duckfoot" Ernie Harris, James' old friend from back home in Mississippi. He was the compulsive gambler(from Season 2, I believe).

"KNOW them? I SAVED every ONE of them!"

nerrad

That was Larry's mother concerning the 17 floors.

Here's one:

"Hey man, your number hit. Twenty five pennies gets you 150 of the long green".

knl9674
12-21-2004, 10:36 AM
That was the numbers guy from the Black Jesus episode.

"She left me, James."

Jefffalan

Willy J. Washington from the carwash to James in the episode where Florida enrolls in Night School.

"I was givin' you the benefit of the doubt. With that DRESS you got on, WHO can tell???"

nerrad

Sounds like the MadDog episode when he was talking to the judge.

How about:

" Forgive me, but I was the best damn maid there was".

Jefffalan

That was the father of the rich girl J.J. was dating in "The Debutante Ball"(season 2, I believe). James had just told him he shouldn't "forget where he came from . . ."

"Fine thing, James. You having a pajama party, and you didn't EVEN invite me!!!"

"I am in the Habit of believing that when I pay for something, I should get EXACTLY what i ordered!"
