Seeing his wife gave us an understanding of why he was such a two bit bully- his wife ruled him with an iron hand. Whoever played her (I don't know) did a good job, seeing them together actually made Bookman a more sympathetic character.

i would imagine it was nasty.

Marilyn Coleman played Violet Bookman, and she only appeared in two episodes of Good Times; Bye, Bye, Bookman and Willona, the other Woman, both from the show's 5th season....
