You know the little green door on the kitchen wall,where Laverne or Shirley would yell"LENNY,SQUIGGY COME DOWN".On the odd occasion,the camera would reveal that there were in fact two of these green chutes in the girls' kitchen,on either side of the stove.I wondered why they would have two chutes.Perhaps one was a garbage chute,while the other was a laundry chute.

I don't think they had a laundry chute...? I thought that they would bring their laundry down to the mat lol I just remember that from when Squiggy needed help learning how to use the machines and he had all of his stuff in a big bag ~ Shirley hit him with it lol and ran down to the mat. I'm not sure though, you could be right.

I'm not sure, It could've been for the incinerator, but they always brought stuff down there themselves. Then there was the dumb waiter that they'd use as an intercom system, I know there was one episode where Lenny and Squiggy were using it to go mining. :lol:

Interesting. For those who aren't familiar with the term, dumbwaiters were built into (usually upper class) older houses and used by the servants to transport food from floor to floor. For instance, if the kitchen was in the basement and the dining room was on the first floor, the cook would place the food on the dumbwaiter platform, and the servants in the dining room would pull on a rope and haul the food up.

Perhaps the building the girls lived in used to be a single home, and was converted into apartments.

Maybe a it was a portal. ;)
