Truckin'?

Tupelo Honeys?

Who are the former and current Hippies on here?

Do you all know that Dana (Plato) thought of herself as a hippie? Seeing how well I got along with her, I think she had it down pretty well.

One of my old friends from school has a very Hippyish family. They were cool though. I didn't care for the goat milk they always drank. :thumbsdow

I am. A bit. At least, I'm part hippy. But I'm a mix of so many things, really.
But I do have a bit of that philosophy.

That's like me. You can't really put a label of anything on me.

My Uncle was selling in Seattle, but they were on to him, so he fled to SFC, where he lived on Haight-Ashbury.

He then met his wife at a commune in Denver.

Seems that growing up in the 60s was a bit more exciting

Yet, out of the 3 brothers he is the only conservative (god, dont let some dumbass start political conversation from that, I just think it is ironic)

hmmm, I suppose it should also be mentioned that he is really, really into Tai Chi (it really does do wonders for your health), and his wife is pretty hippyish still, she buys alot of organic things etc.

I sometimes think my soul should have been apart of the 60's because I am so enchanted by that era.

There is a new book out about the 60's called "The 60's Chronicles." Can't wait to read it.

I'm sort of a mix of different things, too. I'm kind of half '60s and half '80s. It's really crazy. I can't really go by just one label. What I wear and the kind of music I listen to is a real mixture of stuff that's anywhere from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s to today. The 1960s was a great era for music. :guitar:

My aunt is a cross between earth mother and hippy. They eat all organic food and she doesn't shave anything. Everything is about peace and love.

I was never enthralled with the hippie lifestyle. Like dirty, lice infested Flop Houses. Give me my creature comforts anyday! :D

But if they were all like these guys it would be a blast!

I prefer the '50s. Pompadours and ducktails beats long, dirty hair (on men) every time!

I like them. Even "Ben Cartwright" had a small pompadour.
Not to mention Elvis, of course.

I've always felt that I have a little hippy in me. I'm anti-war and agianst violence so I certianly believe in the hippy philosophy. I don't have long hair (though I did in high school) or wear bell bottoms and flowery shirts though.peacesign:

I used to hang out with a bunch of hippie girls. They were awesome... so mellow and chilled. But I changed my group of friends a while ago, so I don't see them anymore.

Going by the picture you posted, yes it looks like he has at least a semi-pompadour. Good for him! :)

But still, pompadours blow.

did anyone ever see that episode of Kids in the Hall?

"I liked it better back when the men knew who the men were, and the women knew who the men were, and the men knew who the women were, and the women knew who the men were, and everybody knew who everybody was.

I had this friend, and he went out with a woman, and it turned out that it was a man...so the next time, he went out with a man, and it turned out that it was actually a man"

it's hard for males to make their hair look decent on their own, you know, since women learn to take care of long hair at such a young age.

If I had a hairdresser as Johnny Depp does, I would have a sexy due like that :P

in the phrase "Hair due" is it spelled "due" "do" or "dew"?

I simply have no idea.
