I post primarily on alt.tv.mad-about-you & often forget about this board (why I don't know) so I am taking my recent news tidbits that I have posted over there & bringing them to you fine folks here:
MAY IN THE UK

Disney's UK daytime entertainment channel, ABC1 will lift its penetration by over one million digital homes from this Friday, after inking a cable carriage deal. Airing US imports like Home Improvement, 8 Simple Rules., Sports Night, Once & Again and General Hospital, the channel has acquired the hit show Mad
About You, which will be premiered in January.
The release of the next DVD
(Snipped from http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=2266)
Mad About You will receive a "Collection" release with episodes selected by the stars, Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser. We don't have many details about the new set (nothing has been announced) but we can tell you it'll contain a selection of episodes throughout the seasons, including the pilot and the finale, and will be released in a 3 disc set along with bonus material. We should see this released in early 2005.

"Yeah, with the apparently massive (dis)interest they saw from Seasons 1 and 2, we're lucky they're even giving it a second chance by releasing this compilation DVD. If it doesn't sell, there will be no more."
I for one plan on getting it as something is better than nothing. It really does disappoint me to see all the GARBAGE that is out on DVD (have you seen the $5 bin at Wal-Mart?) and we can't get them to release the additional seasons of a show that was top of the ratings during its run. Crazy I tell ya but it all comes down to us doesn't it.
They will produce anything for a profit. No profit, no production.
I for one am looking forward to the new set. Being that its a supposed collection of shows picked by Helen & Paul. It has already been announced tht there will be extras on it including commentary from the cast.
