I'm in 7th, and I think it's stupid that Middle School kids and High School kids can't have two hour delays! Elemantary kids get so many two hour delays. Collage students get up to four weeks of Christmas break. Middle School and High School kids get nothing :( Hollow 12-07-2004, 06:21 PM Originally posted by *CamdenGirl89* Um, ok.... what grade are you in? Middle School and High School kids get nothing :( Delays don't exist just for students to sleep in and have a break, they're for teachers to have meetings and such. and college is WAY different than middle and high school. it's not part of the school district. last year we got a 3-hour late start the first wednesday of every month, this year they changed it to a 3-hour early release. Mr. Television 12-07-2004, 06:24 PM Thanks for informing us. :D theanswerman 12-07-2004, 06:27 PM one day we only had school from 8.30am to 11.30am PZelda 12-07-2004, 06:29 PM Originally posted by safety pin Delays don't exist just for students to sleep in and have a break, they're for teachers to have meetings and such. and college is WAY different than middle and high school. it's not part of the school district. last year we got a 3-hour late start the first wednesday of every month, this year they changed it to a 3-hour early release. Nice! I'd rather have an early release than start school late. :D Yeah...colleges don't run by the same schedule, although the ones around here have similar schedules to the public school system here. The public schools here have a statewide teacher inservice conference every year on the 3rd Thursday and Friday in October and the kids get those two days off...but the colleges in this state don't do that. Sargent Stewie 12-07-2004, 07:47 PM I remember like 2 years ago, the snow was really heavy here in MD that there was no school for 1 week straight. AKA 12-07-2004, 08:01 PM Originally posted by safety pin i though grades 6, 7 and 8 were middle school. In most areas, K-6 is elementary school, 7 and 8 are middle school (or junior high, if you prefer), and 9-12 are high school. Janet McFarland 12-07-2004, 08:06 PM Here its K-5 is elementary school, 6-8 is middle school, and 9-12 is high school.. Caffeine King 12-07-2004, 09:06 PM I wish that it was Jr. High instead of middle school...6th graders are really short and annoying. Ooh! 6th grade! Big deal... I should be in 9th grade anyways but my mother made me and my twin sister do 8th twice because she thought we were too young. :sleep2: *Pleasant Tomorrow* 12-07-2004, 09:09 PM Originally posted by safety pin Delays don't exist just for students to sleep in and have a break, they're for teachers to have meetings and such. Word. And also for snow...but we won't get any this winter because it's a half-ass winter. EmoJoe 12-07-2004, 09:10 PM We only have delays if theres snow or floods and stuff like that *Pleasant Tomorrow* 12-07-2004, 09:11 PM Originally posted by AKA In most areas, K-6 is elementary school, 7 and 8 are middle school (or junior high, if you prefer), and 9-12 are high school. Now the Jr. High's are middle schools...but I'm still used to calling them Junior highs so **** that **** :grr: EmoJoe 12-07-2004, 09:16 PM Originally posted by *CamdenGirl89* Um, ok.... what grade are you in? Except sometimes one school will have half days for confrences and the others wont. Horray. Caffeine King 12-07-2004, 11:37 PM Oh yeah, every first Wednesday of the month (I think it is) we get a half day because of teacher meeting or whatever. :o I'm happy because that means it's tomorrow! Brent88 12-07-2004, 11:44 PM December 1st was the first Wednesday of the month. Here it's K-5, then 6-8, then 9-12. High schoolers during exam weeks(at the end of the semesters) only have a half of day. :D Hollow 12-07-2004, 11:50 PM Originally posted by Brent88 December 1st was the first Wednesday of the month. WHAT'S SO FUNNY ABOUT THAT? Now, it's: K-5, 6-8, 9-12 (I think that's it... I haven't gone to school for over 20 years.) spunkygirl 12-08-2004, 04:18 AM When I lived in California, the high school I was going to was brand new but it only consisted of 9th and 10th graders to help with the overcrowding problem. Was actually pretty cool. The next year after that they added 11th graders, then the following year they added 12th graders. I actually went to 3 different high schools, which sucks G-Force Glockstar 12-10-2004, 05:16 PM Originally posted by RurryJoeMicelli We only have delays if theres snow or floods and stuff like that Yep, same with me.
