Penny Lane 12-06-2004, 09:32 PM Let's see how far we can go with this until Dec. 25!
Ok, Let's start with
"I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day"
You don't need to post an artist if you don't want to.:D

Brenda Lee first recorded it. But I have recordings both by The Beatles(which is VERY cool!) and also by Hall and Oates which I like very much!

I have it on CD. I downloaded it. I'll listen to the song again sometime to be positive, but I'm pretty sure the Beatles sang the song. I also like "Jingle Bell Rock" also covered by the Beatles.
Aside from the Beatles, other songs I like by other bands are:
Mariah Carey- All I Want For Christmas
NSYNC- Happy Holidays
Harry Connick, Jr.- It Must Have Been Ol' Santa Claus
Bruce Springsteen- Merry Christmas Baby
Madonna- Santa Baby
Sheryl Crow- Blue Christmas
Run DMC- Christmas In Hollis
Harry Connick, Jr.- When My Heart Finds Christmas
I also like some Christmas songs sung by Bing Crosby.

That's incorrect. The Beatles never recorded either song. The only Christmas tracks the Beatles recorded are the annual Christmas fan club flexi-discs from 1963-1969, which includes 1967's "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)."
What you've downloaded was surely mislabelled by someone.

Penny Lane, Crystals, thanks to my team of forensic scientists, I now know what you're talking about, and as I said, it's not the Beatles you've downloaded.
What you're hearing is a Swedish Beatles tribute group called "Rubber Band." They put out an album in 1996 called Xmas! The Beatmas (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000301C/qid=1102396465/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-8870327-6277535?v=glance&s=music), in which Christmas favorites are given Beatle-esque arrangements. For example, their version of "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" is an obvious nod to "I Saw Her Standing There" (with a reference to "Helter Skelter" at the end), while "Jingle Bell Rock" is given the "Please Please Me" treatment.
To the trained ear of a Beatles fan, it's very obviously a fake, but I can see how the unacquainted can mistake the lead vocalist for Paul McCartney (albeit with a swedish accent).
Here's an MP3 sample of "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree."

vashti1999 12-07-2004, 02:31 AM The Closing of The Year - Wendy & Lisa
If i cannot bring you comfort,
then at least i bring you home
for nothing is more precious
than the time we haven't sold
We all must learn from small misfortunes
count the blessings that are real
Let the bells ring out for Christmas
at the closing of the year
Let the bells ring out for Christmas
at the closing of the year
If i cannot bring you comfort,
then at least i bring you home
At the closing of the year
