View Full Version : What's your rate of anger from 1-10?
Janice Johnson 12-06-2004, 09:36 AM You know that Richter Scale that goes from 1-10(1 being very minimal and 10 being maximum?) What is your rate of anger in these situations?;)
1.Your son broke the vase that has been in your family for three hundred years.
2.Your dog ripped apart the report you worked on for six hours straoight and forgot to make a copy/save it on your computer.
3.The cashier at the ice cream store gives you the wrong ice cream and is refusing to give you the right one.
4. One of your acquaintences(spelling?) calls you by your twin sister's name.
5.While waiting in line at the post office, a guy pushes you and rudely forgets to say sorry.
6.You loan your friend 200.00 and they don't return it when they said they will.
7.You find out that your 16 year old daughter is pregnant and has been for about 5 months.
8.You find out that your manager has been stealing money from you from your account.
9.Your best friend blabbed your darkest secret(The one you told him/her in complete confidentially) and know a lot of people know.
10.Someone rearends you while you are driving in traffic, causing a major accident and a big problewm for your insurance plan
Maybe I'm strange, but most of those situations would make me sad, not really angry.

Mysty Eyes 12-06-2004, 05:19 PM Hmm... tough to say on many of these.
But first... Since I live in earthquake country, I just have to comment. Please take no offense; only constructive criticism meant here.
Richter Scale: This measures seismic activity, or earthquakes. I googled it and found this site: http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/R/Richtrsc.asp
Interestingly, the Richter Scale only goes up to 9. ("Numbers for the Richter scale range from 0 to 9, though no real upper limit exists.") I never knew that. Heh!
Anyway...
1. Would never happen: I have no children nor family heirlooms.
2. No dog! However, if my computer decided to eat it up I'd be royally upset. Hmm... say a seven. I'd feel very sick, too.
3. This would upset me, but life is too short. So... 2?
4. No twin, but I've had teachers who would always ask after my sisters, so that's similar. Annoyed, not angry. Zero.
5. Very mild. One, unless he kept doing it over and over.
6. Depends on the friend. I want my money back, but I can be flexible. A reliable friend: mild... 0-1. A friend I thought was reliable, but who kept putting me off: 6+ (depending on how long it takes to get the $$ back.)
7. I'd be mad at myself for not realizing that she was pregnant and needing support. 9 (10, non-Richter... )
8. Furious. 9 (10)
9. Furious. 9 (10)
10. Don't drive, but I'd say 9 (10) if only for all of the hassle it would cause.

I'm only commenting on what you wrote at the end of your test. You seemed to be surprised by your own test results. That's what I gathered by your comment at the end of your post.

Fonzie87 12-06-2004, 11:32 PM Well, two-thirds of the situations dont apply to me, but for any that do (like a guy rear-ending me and screwing up MY insurance, which happened to me two weeks ago) He/She would be dead... or real close to it. I guess that makes it a 10 to all.

I dunno...10 out of 10 for all..and I didn't even read them. I'm just in a bad mood. Well, okay, not #5. I don't even care. I live at the post office and am used to standing in those lines. #4 doesn't even apply. 10/10 for the rest. The nerve of that ice cream bastard.
