View Full Version : Nose rings
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-04-2004, 08:47 PM For quite some time now Ive been thinking of getting a nose ring. For anyone who knows me, knows that I hate uneccesary pain, and tend to get sick of things really fast. So, Im just curious about the pain factor- how long does it last- which piercings are more painful (besides the obvious lol), and what are the complete steps to getting your nose pierced. I know that in the end the odds are I wouldnt get it done, but it is something Im thinking about.
consentida 12-04-2004, 08:49 PM I want to get my nose pierced but eh...I dont know.
Brian Damage 12-04-2004, 08:52 PM When I was younger, I got my eye brow and tongue pierced. It didn't hurt at all. Just a little pinch.

Brian Damage 12-04-2004, 08:55 PM No, because of saliva, the tongue is the fastest to heal. I have no hole or scar remaining from the piercing. My eye brow, I still have the scar.
robyrob 12-04-2004, 08:55 PM won't that interfere with nose-picking festivities?
EmoJoe 12-04-2004, 09:22 PM My cousin got a nose ring. She's 20, but she got it when she was 19, and i thought it looked horrible on her.
I dont know about you though :)
Hollow 12-04-2004, 09:25 PM studs are cute.

-*Forever*- 12-04-2004, 09:42 PM I'm in the same boat. I want to get my bellybutton too though... I would think that hurts the most cos it's a thick piece of skin. Does it hurt a lot?
Also, I'm prone to getting infections in my piercings. Nose and bellybutton infections - hurt a LOT or just a little?

Czas na Zywiec 12-04-2004, 10:27 PM I've been wanting to pierce my eyebrow for the longest time.. I wouldn't get sick of, the worst for me would be the pain. Well, money too. I'm a poor son of a bitch right now. :o

What about when you get the eyebrows waxed wouldn't the piercing be yanked off>?
snl75 12-05-2004, 12:35 AM body pierceing is a real turnoff to me yuck why would any one want to do it? my ex girlfriend told me when we were dating that she was thinking about having it done. i managed to talk her out of it at least while we were dating . but i often wonder if she ever had it done after we split up.

There's nothing wrong with being metrosexual. I know men that shave their underarms and wax their eyebrows; that doesn't make them gay.

The Hell it doesnt! I think even waxing your chest (guy) makes your a fruit! There is no such thing as "metrosexual" as far as Im concerned!
Back to piercings... nose rings dont look good on annyone, I think on a guy just one earing in the left ear (and it should be a hoop) and on girls, 1-2 earings in both ears, no other piercings... but a nose-piercing doesnt hurt, not any more than an earing. Either do it the way I did my ear (with an apple behind the ear and stick the stud in by hand) or go to a Beauty shop or whatever its called (they cut hair) and they should be able to do it.
ThirteenInchEscape 12-05-2004, 02:02 PM I love diamond studs on girls, I think they are really cute...well I mean, they dont actually matter that much, since they are hardly noticable, but I really do like them.
I however, hate bellybutton piercings, they are the lamest thing ever, because it is always just a preppy girl trying to be alternative, when in fact, all of them have one.
en generale though, I dont have a problem with piercings, they look good on some girls and dont on others...well, actually, I'm pretty sure they just look bad on girls who would look bad anyway. As such, they really dont have much of an effect.

Precisely why I don't have one!
Kay Scarpetta 12-05-2004, 02:13 PM I have my bellybutton pierced... it HURT. I have a high pain tolerance, but.. it killed. I have 6 holes in my left ear and 3 in my right, and none hurt.
Then I pierced my lip, but my mother threatened to get rid of my cat. Besides, it was ugly. I used to want my nose pierced, but I'm happy with just my bellybutton... I think nose rings are ugly, anyway.
ThirteenInchEscape 12-05-2004, 02:17 PM well this girl that I was really, really interested in wanted to get one, and I said it was the lamest thing ever, because it was just "preppy girls trying to be..." and then she actually supplied the word "alternative"
Anyhow, her justification was that since she arleady had her nose, eyebrow, and tongue pierced, that she didnt fit into that category, I figured that was decent enough justification.
She wanted to get something else pierced also..I dont remember what though, maybe her lip or something, she said she was addicted to holes.
Oh, I also know this girl with the very edge of her lip pierced, I've never seen anyone else with a piercing where it is, because it like going to the side of her mouth, I cant even explain it, but that's very cute also.

Someone needs to stop making assumptions. Where did I say anything implying that I thought it was wrong to be a metrosexual? I have no desire to wax my eyebrows, or anything else for that matter, because I don't see a need to. Not because I'm worried because I think it will make people think that I'm gay. I can really care less about what people think of me, as a matter of fact.
MaryElizabeth 12-05-2004, 02:26 PM I have six piercings all in my ears. I've thought about getting others, on my face, but I decided not to. I have an industrial piercing and my tragus pierced. I don't regret either of them.

So I suppose all body builders are homosexuals? Interesting...
Someone needs to stop relying on sterotypes and be introduced into the real world.
Fonzie87 12-05-2004, 02:37 PM Well is there a reason body builders wax their chest? If there is, I dont know of it, but if they need to (and I mean NEED to) than its one thing. I am a bit of a body builder (not major, but enough to be considered one) and I have never even considered waxing my chest. But I know alot of guys that wax their chests so hair wont grow just because the think it looks good. Thats what makes it wrong man. And I dont rely on stereotypes, I go by how I was raised, and how I have always thought, regardless of wether its a stereotype or not.

Obviously someone's never been to a body building contest. You know, shaved body, tan and oiled up skin, flexing of the biceps, etc. Basically, you're supposed to show off what you've god and hair just gets in the way. So you get negative points for it.
Is it wrong for a woman to shave her legs or her armpits? If she feels more comfortable doing it, let her. If she doesn't want to, she shouldn't be forced to. And she shouldn't be ridiculed for it. The same for if a man wants to shave his chest. There could be a variety of reasons. He sholdn't be called "gay," "homosexual," "fruit," etc., just because he wants to. If it makes him feel better about himself, why not? And who are you to judge?

ThirteenInchEscape 12-05-2004, 03:12 PM my stepbrother has this friend that likes to get rid of pretty much all of his body hair...except for his head and one other obvious spot, man wears makeup too, anyhow, everyone at school always said he was gay (this actually started because his girlfriend thought it looked good)
And I was thinking "...you know, there is a good chance he's had more sex, or at least with hotter girls, than anyone in the school...yeah, he's a ****ing flamer"
(That's my sarcasm)
Well, a school of like 130 kids, not like 1000 or something.

Women definatly SHOULD shave all that. Its a womans thing to do, not a mans. And its ugly and wrong for a woman not to. There are certain things both women and men need to do for appearances. None of this Unisex garbage... Women shave their legs, armpits and all that other stuff. The only thing a man should shave is his face if he wants. Thats it. Only if they need to should they shave and wax their chest. Man, you are too open, I think. And no, I have never been to a body builders contest. Like I said, both sexes have 'Do's and 'Dont's, like it always has been.

And women belong in the kitchen and not in the workplace too, right?
Swimmers also shave their chest, legs, etc., so they can be more slick in the water. I guess that's "ugly and wrong" too?

I'm sorry if it looked like I pinned or pinched you. Metrosexual is a 'new fashion term' basically and it means when men take care of their bodies as a woman would do except not going to the extremes as to get their legs shaved or a french manicure done

No, I have never been to Europe, and if thats the way things are over there, I have less of a reason to go. This is America (well, atleast for me), and we do things differently over here. And I am from Texas, a land where Men are Men, and Girls are Girls. I dont know what the hell 'chauvinistic' means, but I dont like how it sounds. Fonzie87 12-05-2004, 06:23 PM And BTW, I do think Women should be houswives, and Men should go to work. Its not an Unequal thing, but someone needs to stay home, look after financial stuff, and keep the house in order. And even more so if you got kids. Kids need their moms when they are growing up. Not their Grandmas, or a babysitter, or anything like that. I grew up in a house where my Father worked and my mother stayed home. We always ate good meals together at dinner (all home cooked and everything), and now that my mom is with my Stepfather, she also works, my brother and sister never get homework done, they dont always eat as good a dinner, and are spoiled pricks. They dont respect anything, and always get things their way, because nobody was home to raise them right. Its not that Men and Women are unequal, they are perfectly equal, they just play different roles. And it is proven that the mother is more influential, and more 'needed' in childhood than the father.

There's nothing wrong with being metrosexual. I know men that shave their underarms and wax their eyebrows; that doesn't make them gay. Body piercings on a guy do not make you a metrosexual. Metrosexual is like... Ryan Seacrest. Highlights, tanning, manicures, the goods.

Czas na Zywiec 12-05-2004, 09:04 PM Are you saying this poor man isn't allowed to use NADS or the like, but has to suffer the rest of his life? How can you be so cruel? :(

And I know what a metrosexual is. If anything, I'm as far away from it as can be. My style of dress isn't all preppy and Abercrombie, nor do I highlight my hair or spend hours at the salon getting a facial. I wear mostly hoodies, cargo pants, winter hats, and the like.

And as I said before, if you have a REASON to shave yourself, thats different. And by reason, I mean it has to do with your job, or your sport, or whatever. And I dont believe I was trying to shove my beliefs on anyone, I was just stating my opinion. God, you people... your like Hippies or something. I bet some of you smoke dope, too. Whatever happened to America? Somehow her values seemed to have gotten lost. I never tried to piss any of you off, I simply voiced my opinion.
My god, people like you are the prime reason I want to get out of Texas so badly.
Why does it not surprise me that you don't know what chauvinistic means. Do you not have dictionaries in your part of Texas, or any text book except the bible for that matter? And how does a woman shaving her legs have anything to do with America? Nothing. God forbid there are actually other people like you. If a man can shave his face only if he wants, then a woman can shave whatever the hell she wants.

Wow, I hope he doesn't live near Austin. Or any of his relatives.

Not everyone from Texas is that way, but as you say, unfortunately some are!

Silly, you should know better than to voice your differing opinion on a thread of such open-minded people like these.;)
Piercings are ugly and stupid, in my opinion. And the biggest irony is that most of these idiots get them to show the world that they are "different", when there are about 20 billion other idiots who are doing the same exact thing.
Boy, am I glad I never posted in this thread.

It's true, a lot of them are! That's why I still tell people I'm from Michigan, but that I just live in Texas.
