Okay, I know that it is pretty silly, but Moonlighting sure could use some votes...

View Full Version : Best kisses Kimmie S. 12-04-2004, 03:34 PM Okay, I know that it is pretty silly, but Moonlighting sure could use some votes... http://www.tvguide.com/ (Under Today's poll: Best kisses) :) Dutchie 12-04-2004, 03:53 PM Not silly at all! PEOPLE! WE HAVE TO VOTE!:D :D Greets Steph Kimmie S. 12-04-2004, 03:57 PM Great! ;) I think that you can vote several times, but I'm not sure. CindyK 12-04-2004, 10:41 PM Tee hee hee. TV Guide usually doesn't record more than one vote per computer--but I am pretty sure they use cookies to track who has voted before. So if you want to vote more than once, be sure to dump/delete your cookies first. C. Tamm 12-05-2004, 04:41 PM I was really sad to read what Bruce said about the kiss in his forum. OK it is HIS forum and he can say what he likes there but it did sound a bit nasty about Cybill, I hope I am reading more into the comment than he meant  Its about how the viewer perceived the kiss isn't it, and not how much the actors enjoyed it  After all acting is just pretending. Finally, I am also confused about where you go to vote  if I am being technically stupid again please forgive me :D CindyK 12-05-2004, 06:52 PM Tamm You go to TvGuide.com's home page at http://www.tvguide.com Look in the flash block that loads in the top middle of the page that has a flash that plays between info on Noah Wylie's Tv Movie, the new film Closer, Donald Trump and some other features. There on that space on the left near the bottom is a text link that says today's Poll Best kisses. Click on that and then a graphic loads that shows some scene from Buffy with another text link that says "Poll- Which is your favorite memorable kiss." Click on that and the poll comes up. CindyK 12-05-2004, 08:20 PM I am deleting this comment as I don't want to make any comment that is just speculation concerning this matter.... kismet 12-06-2004, 11:37 AM Originally posted by Tamm I was really sad to read what Bruce said about the kiss in his forum. I thought he meant that THAT particular kiss wasn't as good as some other big screen kisses. I thought the kisses in Witness For The Execution, The Straight Poop, and even Maddie's Turn To Cry were better/more passionate than the kissing in I Am Curious, Maddie -- though I did enjoy ALL kisses in Moonlighting.:D I also did not vote because I couldn't figure out how to do it. Thanks for the info, Cindy. Tamm 12-06-2004, 07:47 PM Thnaks for the respones. noofrtunateley I am very, very drbnk aND CANne't do justice to wqhatever you said. Is it onl;u=y mONDAY? Oh ifel like David!! Apologies all:D MulberryGal 12-07-2004, 05:27 AM I agree with Kismet. I commented on BW.com that the experience of the audience who invest time in getting to love the characters and plots, and the experience of the actors themselves is often very different! Having to kiss someone and pretend to have feelings for them in front of a crew and various people telling you that your hair needs doing again or you need to face a different direction must be darn odd!! Mul ;) CyBr 12-07-2004, 08:03 AM I read what he said too and I definitely think he was commenting more on the experience of doing the scene because he said something about being the "source". Whatever was going on at the time, I don't think he can be objective about how sexy it came across to us fans so I don't put too much stock in how he rates it. Tazmania 12-07-2004, 05:55 PM If you look very closely to that scene you can see that they're NOT very comfortable when he lays her down on the rug. Cybill pregnant, Bruce a broken collarbone, it can not have been a run of the mill. But the bedscene makes it all good and sincere in my opinion. Thinking about the above I understand why Bruce says this and I don't think he wants to get back at Cybill. Still he DID burst my dreambubble......... :( Dutchie 12-08-2004, 08:28 AM Yeah Taz, mine too. I can feel the pain. Maybe watching some Moonlighting together will help. kismet 12-08-2004, 11:19 AM Originally posted by Tazmania If you look very closely to that scene you can see that they're NOT very comfortable when he lays her down on the rug. The next time you respond to Taz, think before you write.:D No more dreambubble bursting for the next few months or years or decades... Did you ever notice in To Heiress Human when they are in bed in the first scene, BW puts his hand directly on the twins. It seemed to make Cybill a little uncomfortable (or was it "just my imagination"). Dutchie 12-08-2004, 12:48 PM Never saw it... CINDY!!! Do you have that scene??? Tazmania 12-08-2004, 02:27 PM YEP saw that, he's laying in her bed with his hand on her belly. :D CindyK 12-09-2004, 12:06 AM Taz Remember that the scenes that take place on the actual floor in Maddie's living room that are shot from a distance are using two body doubles and are not Bruce and Cybill. Only the close up shots are them. And at no time did B and C ever end up on the floor or the bed when shooting this...everything they did here was done standing up with rug and bedding mounted on the wall behind them. I thought everyone had heard this story about the scenes. It is really old news and was reported around the time the scene was shot in several newspapers and magazines. It always seemed weird to me that it was done that way, but the circumstances demanded it and it doesn't really take away from how the scene looks on film. Regardless of who was who and who did what....the effect was to represent David and Maddie's passion and I think it worked really well. Dutchie 12-09-2004, 11:19 AM Another bubble bursted... :( I knew that story already, don't worry. I just like to believe it was them:rolleyes: :p MulberryGal 12-10-2004, 04:54 AM Aaargh I never knew that?! Now my bubble is burst! Body doubles!? Really!!? I honestly didn't know that... Argh! Mul  CindyK 12-10-2004, 05:17 PM Yes Mulberry. Standins are used on TV series when doing "coverage". Sometimes when shot from the back or at a distance, it is not the real actor at all but his/her stand-in. But in I am Curious,...normally the stand-ins or doubles would not have been used; however having a pregnant and nauseous lead actress and an injured actor here required that the physical part of the scene be done by doubles. There is no way physically that the two real actors could have been rolling around on the floor like that under the circumstances. But they did do the kissing etc stuff. Tazmania 12-10-2004, 06:55 PM I know this C, I know they had standins and were standing up just like I wrote Bruce, I just didn't know it wasn't them rolling around on the floor....:( Allthough I already said to Bruce that this must have been very uncomfortable doing that scene. But, the shot where they wake up in the morning....... That's where he has his hand on her belly. That's real because you can see their faces...... ;) Tazmania 12-10-2004, 06:57 PM Now this girl is NOT Cyb, anyone can see that! Dutchie 12-11-2004, 04:35 AM Yeah, I could see it wasn't Cyb:D but then again, I wasn't really sure if I saw it right  CyBr 12-11-2004, 09:07 AM Speaking of body doubles, take a look at the fight scene in the parking garage between Sam and David in "I am Curious... Maddie". When Sam takes a swing, you see "David" from the back but it's very obviously not Bruce Willis that he's slugging. The profile and hairline are drastically different from his. MulberryGal 12-11-2004, 11:15 AM Yeah!! That's definitely not Cybill!! I'll have to watch that epi again and try to spot the joins between the actors and the stand ins... Yep, I notice that whenever B had a stand in in the fights or stuff, the chap who stood in for him had really thick hair, not to mention a completely different body shape....not that I ever look that closely! Mul  CindyK 12-11-2004, 01:32 PM Well since we are off on this stand-ins/doubles topic, here is one of the very noticeable stand-in scenes to me. In A Trip to the Moon when David A. arrives at the office the next morning and raps on the glass to get Agnes' attention so she comes outside. When we see Agnes talking and David's back is to us, that is clearly the stand in and not Bruce Willis. That is one of those stand-in/doubles used for coverage cases. And in the Pilot when Maddie does that ladder cling thing when it shows how high it is....that is Cybillis' stunt double. I have a picture of the clock face that shows the stunt double on it. The stunt double has a webpage somewhere that shows off some of her work. I found this a few years back, but don't know if I could find it again. Tamm 12-11-2004, 02:50 PM I will have to look more closely at the next episode! I have only spotted the stand ins a couple of times so far and only on stunt type shots CyBr 12-11-2004, 04:09 PM I'll add one more. In the scene where David is riding a unicyle in "The Color of Maddie", we could have guessed it wasn't really Bruce Willis, but the guy riding doesn't even look like him! Again, the hair is a dead give away. Tazmania 12-11-2004, 06:08 PM Cindy this is what Kismet and I meant..... kismet 12-11-2004, 06:40 PM Yup - that's the one. Smack dab on the twins!:D CindyK 12-11-2004, 08:51 PM I knew the scene. But it is always nice to see it again. BTW, neither of these are standins or body doubles! These are the real deal. LOL! Tazmania 12-12-2004, 08:30 AM Thats what we were saying! LOL  Dutchie 12-12-2004, 10:25 AM That picture is soooooo sweet:) I never saw that epi....:( btw, I received an e-mail from SBS Broadcasting and they said they would send my request to someone who decides what they are gonna air. Keep your fingers crossed!:) MulberryGal 12-12-2004, 12:44 PM I love that picture!!! So sweet.... Nope, certainly no body doubles there Cindy LOL Mul :D |
