I just recently discovered this message board, but noticed that no one has posted since October. I am very interested in more info on the DVD's that MikeV has been creating and wondered if anyone can enlighten me as to price, shipping time, etc. I would greatly appreciate any info. My husband and I are huge fans of the Newhart (in Vermont) series.
Does anyone know why, with all the sitcoms being put on DVD commercially these days, Newhart is not one of the ones "they" are doing?
Thanks for any info.

On the DVD issue! it probably the fact that MGM was bought out by FOX (could be legal issues)? Some episodes made it onto VHS during the 80-90s!! I cant imagine trying to by the whole set on DVD as it ran for 8 years-184 episodes
It still runs daily in Canada on the Comedy channel .
I also cant find Night Court which was hugely Popular?

I know I am showing my ignorance, but what exactly is mpeg 2 format and how can I use it, assuming I can get it from you?

I am trying to get the old Newhart series from the 80's. They can be found nowhere. I can't believe the old series they are bringing back and they leave out the "cream of the crop"! Let me know if any are to be found. Thanks

MPEG 2 is the format in which it is saved! I think it stands for Motion Picture Expert Graphics array? if someone knows better please clear it up?
as far as i know its the easiest format to convert to dvd ?
a computer can usually play a mpeg 2 file without any special file as if some files are mpeg 3 and 4 and are compressed more and need special codecs and players needed for playback!
