How about a board for black movies?

Why cant you just post black movie threads on the movie board? They're movies, too.

I agree, no need to segregate movies.

I see what you're all saying. Sometimes black movies need that special attention and on the movie board is not enough.

I've tried talking about "Blaxploitation" movies like Shaft, Foxy Brown and Superfly on the movie board, but didn't get alot of participation.

Which is exactly my point. I tried with Boyz n the Hood and Juice, and I think one person responded.

Why do they need special attention? A movie is a movie, no matter what race the people who made it/star in it are. Just because people dont respond to a few threads about black cinema doesnt mean we need a whole sepeate board about it.

It's one thing to separate movies by categories like action/adventure, romance, comedy,etc..... but to separate them by color is another. It would make SO look very racist.

Plus remember not every person responds to every thread made on the movie board. I've started a few that have gotten no responses AT ALL. :)

GarfieldKool there's no point in having a black cinema board on here cause these lames on here wouldn't respond to them anyway cause they don't watch black movies.

Brian Damage made a stupid comment earlier this year about Spike Lee's She Hate Me movie when i posted it on Cheers message board saying Woody Harrelson is in it. Brian's response was Spike Lee's movies don't make any money anyway. Now what kind of statement is that? Sounds racist to me. Who cares if his movies don't make any money. I wasn't talkin about that. I was just lettin people know on Cheers board that Woody was gonna be in Spike Lee's movie.

How come Brain Damage can say something like that and not be a racist comment, but I suggested a black movie board and that's considered racist? This question is to all you who posted except Isiah.

I dont know what Brian Damage said, but it is racist because we would be SEGREGATING things here at sitcoms online.

You forgot to mention the music board. All these lames on here do is post about wack pop artists & rock & roll singers. I never see any posts about underground rappers or rappers period unless it's somebody wack like Nelly, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Eminem, Chingy.

I agree that the boards shouldn't be segregated but what i'm tellin GarfieldKool is don't get upset when people don't respond to his posts. He has to realize this is mostly a white people's website cause most of the people who respond on here are white & their taste regarding entertainment is different than black people's taste regarding entertainment.

But I dont think this is a white person's website, this is a website for everyone.

This is a website for everyone but what i'm saying is the majority of people on here are white. There's only a few blacks on here including myself. That's why i don't post about black topics on the movies & music boards cause i know most of the people on here don't watch black movies & listen to rap music. People on here probably watch movies with a few black actors that are well known but i know they don't watch a lot of straight to video/independent movies with a black cast.

its only racist of he said that the movies dont make money cause they're black movies.....if u ask me spike lee is the biggest racist around. thats like sayin that michael moore's movies dont make money is a racist comment when it isn't


people do post about black artists on the music board but generally R&B artists...I haven't found much of a purpose to post about rap because most people here, like you said, don't listen to it

Spike Lee ain't no damn racist. Most white people I talked to don't like him because they think he is some kind of militant. The fact is ya'll don't understand him. He just wants reality in his movies that's all. Whites only understand people like Eddie Murphy and Bill Cosby.

Those are boards and it is not segregation- there is no "black" sitcom board, or a "Latin" music board.

There are no boards here that are separated by race.

The music board is for all music.
The movie board is for all movies
The cartoon board is for all cartoons.
The sitcom boards are broken up into individuals shows and general categories.

If you want to have a category for everything black then why not have one for every race. Because if you don't then that is racist and discriminatory.

Garfield Kool and Isaiah Thomas, this is Sitcoms Online, not Movies Online, it would be one thing if this were a movie message board, but it's not it's a sitcoms message board site, which has subforums and the movie board is one of them, why would TJ make a special Black Cinema category when this is not a movie message board?

What next, separate boards for black, latino, etc...sitcoms?

I meant no harm. I wasn't trying to be controversial. I just made a friendly suggestion about a black movie board. It would have been nice to get some support, like saying, "That's a good idea."

GarfieldKool Nas does have a reason to diss those legends cause they've all been with white women or still married to them such as Quincy Jones & Sidney Poitier.

This is a great idea. Maybe we could get a movie board just for white movies, and maybe even gay movies. I'm tired of seeing threads that talk about movies with people in it who are slightly different than me.

Because people in the music board like pop and rock more than rap, we're "stupid". When rap fans trash rock and pop, all it does is hurt your cause, gives people who don't like rap even less of a reason to decide "okay, I'm going to give it a try" And then white people have no right to even like a black artist unless you "approve" them, like when I got cussed out for dare posting on the Bobby Brown/New Edition thread awhile back.

Vashti and Jrnygrl are cool because they are black and DON'T see everything as "us vs. them", they don't live their lives following color lines, more people should be like them.

Nobody on this board knows the color of anybody else on this board unless they are told. Some people gave you some feedback that you didn't like and now you are getting all mad about it. If the topics you posted didn't get a response on the movie board I don't know why you would think that a seperate board would help. This is one community here and we don't need to be segregated and anybody on this board is free to post wherever he or she wants.
