The show gave a lot of good information about The Beverly Hillbillies,Paul Henning and all the others. It was interesting to see them all interviewed-and slightly surprising to learn that now Max and Donna are older than Buddy and Irene were when the show began.I was surprised to see that Max is trying to cash in on Jethro now.He does admit that,no matter what else anyone did-Buddy Ebsen,Barnaby Jones star;Irene Ryan,Broadway actress;Max Bear, movie director;Donna Douglas, gospel singer...they will be now and forever connected with the Beverly Hillbillies.

I could not believe the unbelievably square and hickish way Donna Douglas dresses in real life. The E segment showed her in real life.

Donna Douglas sure dressed like her character 30 years later..... I was surprised about her and Elvis. She never did get married. Another thing that surprised me is when Ms. Jane (Forgot her real name) was running for some office in government & she asked Buddy Ebsen to put in a good word he said "No".

FYI,Donna Douglas was married for the first time when she was in her late teens. She has a son who is in his 40s now.
Donna married again to one of the BH directors when she was in her early 30s.They have also split.

Then if that truly happened why didn't they mention it on the documentary? It seems like a half wit documentary to me!

I interviewed Donna Douglas in the late 1980s for a cable access show at the college I was attending. In her late 50s, she was still dressing as Elly May. I am not certain if she does that for attention or if that is the way she really dresses. While a little odd, she was a very sweet person who has given her life to Christ. She is, however, hesitant to talk about her personal life, but she spoke with fond memories of the series, Buddy Ebsen and her spiritual journey.

I saw the autobiography of Paul Henning on the intenet before he died. It really gives you alot of insite of the sit coms he did. At first they wanted the Hillbillies to be from NY and say they hit the lottery, but then he thought that wouldn't work. There were other things on the internet I didn't know about the shows.
