I just signed up, and tried to answer a lot
of the questions I could for the people that
asked them....Now I have one that I don't
know....Where exactly is the mansion that
they used on the show? I remember a couple
of black and white shows where they used a
helicopter and took some airial movies of
it, and it looks to sit on top of a big hill
where it could be seen for miles, but I have
never heard anything about it....who owns
it? Is it a private home, is it really a
museum or some other public building? Is it
really in Beverly Hills or in the Los Angeles
area? Is it still standing? I would really
like to know this one....It's probably one
of the few details of the Beverly Hillbillies
that I don't have at least some idea of....
Also, where is the Drysdale mansion? If anyone knows, please let me know....Also,
if anyone has a picture of it, could you
submit it to the website?

The mansion once belonged to the Barrymore family. It is located in the heart of Beverly Hills and most of the outside shots were done there on location.

For the first few years the outdoor shots were of that mansion. But after a while, when the actual residents got so many visitors asking to see Jed or Granny or whoever, they stopped giving permission to film the actual mansion in any shots. However, the sets were all made and the place was pretty well established by then.
