 I so didn't know most of those facts. lol. The names, I had a feeling that they were kinda stage names but I wasn't sure. And that's funny, all they say is "Part Italian," lol Well what's the the other part? lmao.

Oo, yes go find that stuff ;) And I looked at those pics of Cindy at the Auto fest and she's so awesome, I mean, she doesn't get all glammed up ~ she's just like anyone else, which she IS but you know; most people that are in movies try to make big scenes and some wouldn't even try to go to public places like that but Cindy? Gotta <3 her.

I found this notecard I made up in my book, it tells me all the continuity errors...there were lots in Chapter One! They can't fool the expert...*points to self* :p

That's cool! Thanks!
I've got a little to add... I watched Lifetime's Intimate Portrait of Penny and I read the biography (unauthorized) on her that this one dude wrote...

*When she was the University of New Mexico she was a psych major... that's where she met Michael Henry, her daughter Tracy Reiner's dad.
*After Penny and Rob Reiner were married, it was hard writing notes to Tracy's school with three last names involved (Marshall, Reiner, and Henry), so Penny told Tracy she could pick either Marshall or Reiner and have her name changed.
*Carrie Fisher and Penny dated Simon & Garfunkle (respectively) at the same time.
*Penny's the youngest of three kids. When she was little her mom used to tease her and say that you could open a coke bottle with her overbite... the poor kid!

Aw man! You got to watch the Intimate portrait! lol I couldn't find it on Lifetime when it said it would be on :( And I thought that Rob Reiner was Tracy's father? lol But wow, such interesting facts about these people; so awesome :D

That's right! I knew something wasn't right. Penny met Michael Henry in college, and later on Rob Reiner adopted Tracy.

Yup, I watched it. My mom taped it for me, but for some odd reason she stopped it when there was still ten minutes left

Hmm, very interesting. My parents are done odd things like that.

Yeah, parents are weird like that sometimes.
Just wondering, have you ever read the book about Penny by Lawrence Crown?

Did you like it? I kinda... hated it. LOL! I barely could make it through... and I want to tell the guy off. That's just my opinion though ;)

I really liked the book. Did you find any continuity errors?

Wait... So Tracy really isn't blood related to Penny? So then that means that Penny never had her own kids?

lavernefan23

LOL, Tracy is Penny's daughter with Michael Henry. She just changed her last name to Reiner when she was a kid to make things easier.

And with the book... I didn't think anything was inaccurate, just not the most positive book. Penny isn't perfect, but I thought the author was a little harsh in some places.

*blonde moment* Okay! Now I wasn't sure since the way some things were worded but now I know :D And I want to check that book out, I don't know if any Library would have it around here... Moondance? lol Do they have it at our Library? What were some of the parts that were harsh, Bree?

I bought it off of Amazon.com for like $2, and you can have it if you want. I was going to put it in a garage sale.

I don't know... I think I'm picky about the biographies I read. I've read about three Judy Garland books and only really liked one of them. This one about Penny has alot of behind the scenes stuff that's cool. But I didn't really think he portrayed her in the best light. To each his own though... ::sigh::

Well I'll check it out in the Library first and then see what I think lol But if he was portraying her badly then I probably will think the same as you.

My only issue with PM's biography by Laurence Chuvonic was that it read like he phoned it in. I wish he had done some actual research instead of regurgitating stories and a few facts that had been flying around for years. I don't care that they didn't show PM in the most flattering light, but I just wish it had been a better written book. Oh well, most "Unauthorized" celeb biographers are usually a half step above tabloid reporters anyhow, and I shouldn't be surprised.

I agree. My impression of the book was that it was a thoughtless, cheap way of making money. Ha... I especially liked the epilogue where he talks about trying to contact Penny. He lists the questions he wanted to ask her, and the last one was "Are you happy yet?" Gimme a break...

About three years ago I was wanting to write a biography for Cindy Williams, I mean, I still could. But I wouldn't want a phone-in interview, I'd go for one-on-one.

Yeah, that'd be the smarter thing to do. I had a fleeting thought of writing one on Penny Marshall, but that would be a BIG project.

Ding, ding, ding! You spotted a continuity error.

You get a free cookie!

P.S. I made the correct year magically appear, and I thanked you Fleet.

Anyone else who notices another "continuity error" feel free to let me know, because the Penny and Cindy biography had a lot.

Supposedly that was just a rumor, there was misunderstandings and disagreements but nothing ever went THAT far; Penny and Cindy had said themselves that people had no clue why they were saying such things.

Basically, I bet it was a Tabloid mag; like those newspapers that are usually by the check out lines in stores. lol. I can't stand that Star paper or that Globe world, something like that; all lies but sometimes they're pretty funny.
