It's a Girl, and a Boy, for Julia Roberts
LOS ANGELES (AP) - It's a girl - and a boy - for actress Julia Roberts and her husband, cinematographer Danny Moder. Roberts gave birth to twins Hazel Patricia Moder and Phinnaeus Walter Moder on Sunday morning at a Southern California hospital, publicist Marcy Engelman said Sunday.
Roberts, 37, was confined to bed last month after experiencing a series of early contractions and wasn't due until early January. Engelman said Sunday in a phone interview that "mother and babies are doing great," but didn't release the twins' weights or other details.
Roberts, who skyrocketed to fame with "Pretty Woman" in 1990, has two films coming out in early December - Mike Nichols'"Closer" and "Ocean's Twelve," the Steven Soderbergh-directed sequel to 2001's star-studded heist caper.
Roberts married Moder in July 2002 at her home in Taos, N.M. The twins are the first children for Roberts, who won the best actress Oscar in 2001 for "Erin Brockovich."

Well, thank God those babies are okay. But Hazel and Phinnaeus? Wow. I thought Apple and Coco were weird.
My cat's name is Hazel. I think it's a horrible name even for a cat.
spunkygirl 11-28-2004, 08:21 PM Congrats to Julia and her husband :)
I agree what were they thinking with those names

Lady T 11-28-2004, 08:29 PM Congratulations on Julia Roberts and the birth of her twins, I agree with everyone else that the names of the babies are a little on the strange side, but then again I should talk since I am planning to name my children Jordana-Rhiannon and Devon-Laurence....
Caffeine King 11-28-2004, 09:49 PM Thank God I'm not a celebrity's kid or otherwise my name wouldn't be Sean, it'd probably be Tangerine! :p
Celebrities really do name their kids the stupidest things...
Erykah Badu named her kids Puma and Seven, whoever that was named her kid Apple, and some singer name her daughter Ireland!
WTF?
Those poor kids, though they'll fit right in at the prep school that they'll go too, I'm sure the other kids will have name just like their's! :o

I think Hazel and Phinnaeus are cool names. Phinnaeus is a name I've never heard before.
I'm planning to name my kids: Asha for a girl, it's a swahili name that means life. I'm not sure yet what I would call the kid if it was a boy. Oh well, I still have some time to think about it.

Gwyneth Paltrow named her daughter Apple. Courtney Cox and David Arquette had Coco. Toni Braxton named her son Diezel. Rachel Griffiths named her son Banjo. Then there's the Bruce Willis and Demi Moore brood: Rumor, Scout, and Tallulah Belle. And my personal favorite, the daughter of Lisa Vidal and Jay Cohen is named Crumpet.
And Michael Jackson of course has Blanket.
I prefer real names. I know, call me crazy. There are thousands of beautiful names out there that aren't used and aren't popular. If I ever have a daughter her name is going to be Adelaide. (There is no compromising on that point!) Theoretically there could be another Adelaide in her class, but who cares? She could go by Addie then, or Della. :) They're still names. Not inanimate objects.

Yeah, but Jordana & Devon are great names, names that I wouldn't mind naming my kids. But Phinnaeus? I can see that kid being picked on, or worse yet, get beaten up. What is it with celebrities? My sister says it's because they want to pick names that they know nobody else will pick. Well, they succeeded. Oh well, maybe they'll be called by their middle names.
Cactus Jack 11-29-2004, 06:28 PM Thats so weird
Thatd be like saying
"Hello, this is my son Smoked Ham On Rye and my daugher Hamburger with Tomato Ketchup!"
