Well isn't this just great. It's the Sunday after Thanksgiving when everyone is supposed to be leaving and what happens? The whole damn state is under a huge snowstorm, leaving me stranded 300 miles away from Boulder. I wouldn't mind this if this was the middle of the semester, but there's only nine days left and I have so many projects due this week. I'm going miss all of my classes tomorrow and probably some on Tuesday, putting me back even further because of missed classes from being sick for two weeks. Perfect. Anyone else stranded somewhere after the holiday weekend or just getting crap ass weather?

I hate snow too; just like it for the holidays.

Ick, that sucks :(

It hasn't even snowed here yet. Twice, once it stayed and was gone the next day. I'll gladly take some, because snow seriously makes me happy...I don't know why...but it does.

It hasn't snowed here since 10/17. It only stuck around for a few hours and it all melted. :cheer:

I'm not looking foward to having to get up even earlier to clean off all the snow off my car in the freezing cold. I hate snow already and it's not even snowing yet.:o

Jet crashes at Montrose Regional Airport
Dan Werner (Web producer)

Updated: 11/28/2004 2:35 PM MST

MONTROSE - A charter jet carrying six people to South Bend, Ind., crashed Sunday morning on takeoff, killing three people and seriously injuring two others near the Montrose Regional Airport, which serves the Telluride Ski Area.

Allen Kenitzer, regional Federal Aviation Administration spokesman, said the pilot, flight attendant and one passenger died when the plane burst into flames after crashing through a fence.

Two other passengers suffered life-threatening injuries. The sixth person listed on the plane's manifest had not been found.

Kenitzer identified the plane as a CL-60 Challenger owned and operated by Global Aviation of Los Angeles, a charter service company. There was snow in the area but Kenitzer said he did not know if it was a factor.

Investigators from the FAA and National Safety Transportation Board were en route to the airport, 185 miles southwest of Denver.

Are you trying to stalk me or something?! That's my town. I live like 5 minutes away from the airport, too. I haven't heard about it, though.

Well Boulder is where I live most of the year because I go to school there. We moved out to Colorado about four years ago and live in Montrose now. That's the problem. I came for for Thanksgiving and now I'm stuck here and can't get back to Boulder to go to class.

Snow sucks. It gets really cold here. It can get to about 25 to 30 below at night sometimes. In the Yukon and N.W.T. and Nunavut it's worse. Snow would be okay if it were warm. But, unfortuantely, that's not the case.

We got our snow on Wednesday and it's almost gone today. :)

I guess we're supposed to get some of that Colorado snowstorm in Iowa...which I didn't even know about. But whatever. All it would do is strand me at home...which is where I am a lot anyway. :p

Yea well I, being the idiot I am, always expect everything to work around me. So I wanted the longest possible break I could get. I've heard stories that it's supposed clear up, but I've also heard it's going to be worse, so I don't know. This storm just hit the state at the perfect time, too. I-70 has been a haven for accidents all day long. There was no way I was going to venture out today...not with my limiting skills of driving through snow. Plus, it doesn't help that I have to go up and down and up and down and wind all around the mountains and valleys.

See, that's the part I'm not too worried about. When I'm on the flat land, I'll be fine. I'm just worried about going through Glenwood Canyon (Especially since they had a rockslide on Thanksgiving Day, creating huge potholes in I-70, so only one lane is open in both directions at 40 mph), Vail Pass and Loveland Pass. Living in the mountains is great. I mean, the scenery is just amazing, but it's a bitch trying to drive through them in the winter.

Where are you getting all this, Brent? I'd like to check some more information out tonight or tomorrow morning.

Nah, you're not an idiot. You can't help it if the weather sucks. I hate snow too. It sucks now that I work and I don't get snow days anymore like I did in school! :( Everytime it snows here, trees fall and the power goes out and my house is all electric, so I 'bout freeze. I hate living out in the boonies and having to camp out in my own house!!!!!! The power will go out and be out for a week! That's why I have no desire to go camping...because I've camped at home. It's not fun roughing it in your own home :D I would like to live somewhere warm all year long. Snow scares me.

Well, it's mostly just wet slush along I-70, so I'm going to try it. It'll probably take longer than usual since I'll be driving slower, but the sooner I get there, the better. If I'm still alive, I'll report back here tonight.

Well, when you live in the mountains, it's a matter of life or death when going through the passes from one side of the state to another. We had a huge blizzard over the weekend, so most of the passes were really badly snowing in and I missed a day of class.
