Who's your fave character and why?

Good question Brett!! Actually, I like all the characters. They each had something unique about them. Dietrich, the know it all, Harris, the fashion plate, Wojo, at first tough and took things personally, then later soft and caring, Yemana, his bad coffee and his Oriental philosophy. Fish, because he's Fish.

I like Fish. His facial expressions and the delivery of his lines were just priceless. Yemana comes in at a close second for his dry, deadpan delivery. He was great in the episode, "Werewolf."

Mmmm...Dietrich. Ever since I was a little kid, I've thought that Dietrich was the funniest person on earth.

Fish was a very funny character, But wojo is one of the coolest characters

My favorite characters are Wojo because he's sweet, and I have a bit of a crush on him, and Yemana because he's just the funniest one on the show! I love him!

Gotta go with Dietrich.

My favorite then and still is because I'm watching all the reruns is.......DIETRICH. At the young age I was in the early 70s it was and still is surprising that I found him to be funny, whereas alot of my friends/family members thought he was dry...

Dietrich. I loved his dry wit. I wish I knew someone like him.

I am a Dietrich fan. In fact, I grew up to be somewhat like him (except that I'm female.)

Wojo is my favorite. There is just something about him.....whoooo hooooo!!!

Jack Soo aka SGT Yahmana is my favorite character he just made me laugh and he made the worlds worst coffee.

I liked WoJo (1st), Gregory Sierra (2nd), & Harris! As a matter of fact they were all good!

I liked Jack Soo the best.

Dietrich for the dry wit...but the interaction between Luger and Barney can be excrutiatingly funny, too. Luger's a character you'd move across town to avoid in real life, but watching him on TV is a howl. Its a mark of the show's quality that they didn't overuse him.

Dietrich. It's fascinating to figure him out *in the context* of the other characters. I was an intellectual geek even as a kid (I was 16 when the show ended) and I think that's why characters like Dietrich fascinate me: he's an outsider, an intellectual, and yet he (and the other unlikely characters) finds a place at the 12th. The dry humor is so cool, and the way he sometimes uses it is even cooler: to defuse tense moments and to deflate others' pomposities, mostly Harris's and even Barn's (like when Barn gets to speechifying about something). Plus, though he's not showy about it (as he sometimes is with his esoteric knowledge), he will not back down when it's a matter of principle.

I like Chano

I'm amazed nobody mentioned Barney himself! Basically he pulls the show together and makes an excellent foil for the others-- he has few eccentricities but he does have his share of insecurities. I like it when he sends Harris out on calls with Levitt-- I think he does that to bug Harris (and it works). Sometimes you see this little gleam in his eye-- especially when he (subtly) nails Harris. He's calm (not bad looking, either!), soft-spoken (most of the time), wise, very much the father figure to the rest. I never tire of watching the program!

Wojo. He's kinda cute, very funny, and he semms to be a softy at heart.

I loved Jack Soo as Nick cause he had killer lines and was a real nice guy but my favorite was Dietrich I guess. He knew everything but never threw his knowledge around and never pretended to be better than anyone else, unlike Harris. Dietrich would have been fasinating off duty as well. Ya know even Levitt had some pretty good lines. :lol:

Detective Ron Harris as played by Ron Glass was my favorite character, but I also loved Fish and Barney as well.

Nick Yemana-He was the funniest, I loved the werewolf episode too.

Inspector Luger-he was funny when he'd get reminiscent about the old days with Foster, Kleiner and Brown. (right names?).

Chano-I always like Gregory Sierra.

My favorite has to be Dietrich. I have always loved a dry sense of humor. Dietrich had one of the best.

I really liked Lugar...He always laid that guilt trip on Barney...

I liked Yemana for his awful coffee and hating to file (his best was in "Fire 77") But it is Inspector Luger I liked. Every Christmas he would try to beg a dinner invitation from Barney
