Can anyone tell me the name of the actor (and character) who portrayed the "scruffy narcotics detective" who joined the cast in episode 12 entitled "Hair", which first aired on 4/17/75?

I saw him playing an attorney in court on a very recent episode of "Judging Amy", and missed his name in the credits.

I have to rate Barney Miller as one of the funniest shows of the 70s. Ron Glass' character was probably my favorite, but I also loved Abe Vigoda (Fish) and Wojo as well. For me it was not Thursday evening until I heard the theme music to Barney Miller.
