Story 1:

A teenage girl disappears with her older boyfriend. Eventually, the guy's body was found, I think near railroad tracks, but there was no sign of the girlfriend. Some time later, she was spotted alone in a gas station surveillance tape.

Story 2:

A black guy is in jail for a bunch of crimes he claims his identical twin brother committed. Since the guys are identical twins, they pointed fingers at one another when the police caught up with them. I remember thinking the story was quite humorous.

I think these may have been CBS produced episodes, and I don't think I've seen either on Lifetime. Does anyone recall these stories, or more details about them?

Thanks,
Justin

I do remember the segment about the twins where one was sent to prison. I haven't seen it in a while so I don't remember many details. All I can really remember is that the twins mother was certain the wrong twin went to jail. They even interviewed both brothers on some morning show where the one in prison asked his brother to just admit his crime (I can't remember if it was a murder or not) which he didn't causing both brothers to break down in tears. It's the popular opinion among many of their family and friends also that the wrong brother went to jail.

There have been many cases over the years (on the news and on television shows) where a brother blamed his crimes on his twin which eventually got sent to prison. It's awful but it happens. Very depressing.

If I recall correctly, the twins were named Cedric and Frederick. The case was also discussed on Geraldo Rivera's now-defunct syndicated daily talk show. (The UM segment showed archive footage of that program.)

I have never forgotten about Story 1. That was the case of Wendy Von Huben. She was believed to have appeared on a surveillance video at a convenience store, although the video wasn't clear enough to confirm it.

In 2000, serial killer Angel Maturino Resendiz (aka The Railroad Killer) directed authorities to the hidden remains of Wendy Von Huben. He said that he killed her and her traveling partner Jesse Howell.

Thanks Brent. I wasn't sure if Lifetime has ever shown this one.
Regardless, I'll be taping it.

Later,
Justin
