Can anyone tell me the source of Max Gail's character's name, Wojo?

Do you mean the diminutive Wojo or Wojciehowicz?

Wojo is obvious. I have no idea where they got the name Wojciehowicz. Possibly it's the name of someone who worked on the show or a friend or neighbor and they decided to use it for a character.

Well this could be of interest to all that didn't know, but in 1968, a man by the name of Alex Wojciechowicz was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was a center for the Lions and Eagles in the 1940s. And since many of the characters on the show were into sports (especially Wojo), this could be a main source, albeit an obscure source.

The name came from Max's dentist here in Michigan.
