View Full Version : BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!-Artest suspended for the season
TVFactFan 11-21-2004, 06:52 PM I feel so baD for Pacers Fans, Here are the others
Oneal is gone for 25 games
Jackson-30 games
Wallace-6 games
But Artest is gone for the season. Stern about to have a press conference
vashti1999 11-21-2004, 07:09 PM At least now Ron Artest has time to promote that album.
Dutabi84 11-21-2004, 07:14 PM Wow, holy ****! Pacers are screwed. Well, they could still come back in the 2nd half of the season and turn things around in the weak Eastern Conference.

Yeah that is what he asked for
Pavan 11-21-2004, 07:17 PM Artest now has even a worse reputation than Dennis Rodman.
Other suspensions:
Pacers guard Anthony Johnson got five games.
Four players were suspended for a game apiece: Indiana's Reggie Miller, and Detroit's Chauncey Billups, Elden Campbell and Derrick Coleman.

The Eastern Conference is not weak. The Pacers will not be in the playoffs
vashti1999 11-21-2004, 07:32 PM I was thinking maybe Ben Wallace's suspension should have been worse because if he didn't react the way he did to the foul, it wouldn't have escalated to the point it did. But Mark Jackson on ESPNEWS made the point that it was a typical on the court shove. That makes sense, but still Wallace was the real catalyst of the whole thing. Still, Artest should have restrained from going into the stands. Without him and Jermaine O'Neal, it's gonna hurt the Pacers. Like Dutabi said though, in the East, they may still do well.

Nah, the East is still weak. They were bad last year, and not that much better this year. Pacers will be in the playoffs. You read it here!

They will have the same record as the Charlottle Bobcats or worst

Yeah, there's no doubt that if Wallace didn't do what he did, that it wouldn't have happened. But it's not his fault Artest had a cup thrown at him, or his fault that Artest went up into the stands. He's only responsible for what he personally did, and that's shove Artest. I think Stern handled this great, though I think Jackson should have had maybe 5 more games, and O'Neal maybe 5 fewer games.

They can beat the damn Chicago Bulls.....anyone and everyone can.
Seinatra 11-21-2004, 09:46 PM These numbers seem about right, Artest needs to be on medication or something - when you hear him talk he doesn't sound right in the head. I doubt the Pacers will now be in the Bobcats territory - they have only won one game so far. I think may Ben Wallace should have been suspended a few more games because on one of the replays it looks like he shoved a ref out of the way to get to Artest after his initial choke-shove happened.

Oneal and Jackson will not be back until Almost February. By that time, The Pacers will be clearly out of the Playoff Picture
I guess the Knicks will not be trading for Ron Artest.
isiahthomas 11-22-2004, 11:43 AM Ron Artest shouldn't have gotten suspended for the rest of the season. That's not fair at all. David Stern did this to him because of stuff he's done in the past. Since Ron is gone for the rest of the yr, he might as well have suspended Stephen & Jermaine for the rest of the yr cause they punched the fans also. David is a b***h.
Jrnygrl 11-22-2004, 05:41 PM The NBA is nothing but a bunch of thugs, with a few exceptions. Stern did what he had to do, and in my opinion did the right thing, and with no pay. Artest should be glad he wasn't ban for the way he behaved. Whatever happened to sportsmanship? Artest should have let the security (what was there) take care of the beer throwers.
