I beg to differ :p Fresh Prince isn't very classy and it's on N@N, and how exactly is Roseanne classy? ;)

I think BMW would be great on N@N in about 5 years, but right now it's perfect on ABC Family. It never belonged on Disney IMO

It's perfect where it is right now. Maybe in about 5-10 years maybe it will be on Channels that show old shows like Nick @ Nite, TV Land, etc.

TV Land airs mostly 60s and 70s shows now, so in 10 years they will probably be airing late 80s-early 90s shows, while N@N will be airing the mid-late 90s shows. So in 5 or 10 years, It should come to N@N.

Roseanne ended in 98, Wings in 97, Murphy Brown ended in the mid 90s as well and it's coming to N@N. That's only two years later than Rosanne, and Home Improvement will be on N@N in 2007 and it ended in 99, Mad About You will be on N@N in about a year, and it ended not too long ago as well.

So it's really not too soon :)

But BMW isn't a N@N type of show. The other shows either had cult followings, were big ratings hits, or won tons of Emmmys. BMW doesn't fit any of that criteria either does any TGIF show. Shows like The Cosby Show and Roseanne were major hits culturally and commercially whereas BMW doesn't fit that criteria either. I'm not saying BMW sucks or anything but it's just not N@N material.

BTW- Roseanne ended in 1997 and Murphy Brown ended in 1998.

It was never a huge hit like Roesanne

I highly disagree, how many awards did the Fresh Prince win? How man y did Wings win? How many did I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched win(they were on N@N too).

What does that matter anyways? Awards are nothing but popularity contests anyways :)

BMW has a huge fanbase. It's one of the most watched shows in the world, it's been on every Disney Channel around the world, at one time or another. I read that on a NON BMW website last year.

 I agree, from what I've read it's doing really well on ABC Family, and has always done well on Disney too :)

It's has and always will be a popular show, it may not have won awards like Frasier or shows like that, but that doesn't make it any less of a good show :)

Fresh Prince has a huge cult following and produced a mega-star out of Will Smith and Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie earned Emmy nominations and were ratings hits. Wings was a consistent ratings hits and came from the legendary team behind Cheers and Fraiser. BMW or any other TGIF show for that matter never earned any of that. When you think about it BMW is a perfect fit for ABC Family than any other network. BMW for the most part is based around teens. I can't think of a show N@N aquired that was based majorly on a young cast.

Also, it started out as a show about 3 single men raising 3 girls so in that sense it wasn't all kiddy though the humour certainly was.

Maybe Nick is a stretch but it would fit perfectly on The-N and how was BMW a successful show? It never ranked in the top 30 any of its 7 seasons. Nobody's saying (at least me) that teens don't watch N@N but as you've seen, the shows N@N typically goes for aren't BMW material. Could you imagine BMW airing with Murphy Brown and Roseanne?

I said Full House received terrible ratings its first couple of years but towrds the end it did great. Just because a shows lasts long doesn't mean it has a huge audience. For example a show like My So Called Life only lasted one season yet its cult audeince is huge probably bigger than shows that lasted way longer.

yes, 'full house' did better than BMW, yes it has a cult following, but does BMW have one? yes, but smaller but it keeps growing...
but while 'full house' spawned immediate super stars at the end,

BMW's teens went to college, they just graduated a year ago, give them time, i predict at least 2 will make a name for themselves outside BMW....

basicly, BMW would go to nick/the-n first because not just of it's appeal but because it's original ratings never topped "fresh prince' or 'full house' who are infact very similar to past TGIF series....

wasnt 'full house' a part of TGIF once?

BMW actually would in no way fit on the N. If it doesn't fit on Disney, then it def. wouldn't fit on the N. I don't know if you're aware that Disney has banned 3 BMW episodes, they'll never ever show them as long as BMW airs on that channel? I have a feeling that if BMW aired on the N they would do the same thing.

If Fresh Prince fits on the N so would Full House. BMW in it's later seasons had alot more sexual undertones and things like that.

Whether you believe it or not BMW does have a bit of a cult following too. Look up BMW on Google(or any websearch), you'll find tons of sites for it, I've looked up Full House on Google, and that many sites didn't come up compared to BMW.

I like Full House and Fresh Prince(I plan to buy both on DVD when they come out), but BMW def. has alot more popularity than FH. Yeah FH is known for the Olsen Twins, when you mention Full House people say "the Olsen Twins" Most people I talk to when I mention FH don't say, oh yeah great show. Most say "yeah isn't that the show the Olsen Twins were on?

I'm not trying to disparage FH's popularity, it's a popular show in it's own right too, as is FP, Roseanne etc.... Sad truth is FH will always only be known for the Olsen Twins that's who people think of when someone says "Full House"

(these are some books BMW were mentioned in)

p.659

Parents may also be judging the overall quality of television based on what their children watch. Nielson ratings and the 1999 APPC survey, however, reveal that children's favorite programs are not necessarily children's programs. The top-rated programs from the 1998-1999 season were ABC's TGIF lineup programs, such as Boy Meets World and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (which are designed for an older, more general audience but are popular with 2- to 12-year olds).

'Boy Meets World' is the #5 most searched tv series on Zap2it.com

You seem to want to disparage BMW's popularity. You know the ratings for BMW were alot higher than the ratings for the shows on TGIF are getting now, BMW in it's last season was even doing better than current TGIF shows are doing, yet then that was considered bad, now it's not.

Sorry this was so long.

but while 'full house' spawned immediate super stars at the end,

BMW's teens went to college, they just graduated a year ago, give them time, i predict at least 2 will make a name for themselves outside BMW....

basicly, BMW would go to nick/the-n first because not just of it's appeal but because it's original ratings never topped "fresh prince' or 'full house' who are infact very similar to past TGIF series....

wasnt 'full house' a part of TGIF once?

I don't remember Fresh Prince ever being a huge ratings winner either. Someone even joked recently that it's doing better on N@N than it ever did on NBC in it's original run.

BMW has a cult following, maybe not a huge one, but it has one. The thing with Full House, it's fan base consists of fans I would say ages 5-15 or so. Most people consider FH a kids show, people my age who are FH fans, most likely watched it in it's original run and have stayed fans of the show.

Yeah I think FH was on TGIF for a bit. FH would fit better on the N than BMW would IMO. The N is alot like Disney, it's gears towards tweens, and since Disney has banned episodes of BMW, then I can see The N doing the same thing.

Actually The-N airs pretty provocative stuff. Their show "Degrassi" deals with drugs, sex, homosexuality, and other taboo subjects and they air the short-lived My So Called Life.

Because not everyone can afford DVDs, and some don't own DVD players. And if they're like me, they still like to watch it on TV too

Actually it ranked in the top 30 for most if not all of its fun.

For example a show like My So Called Life only lasted one season yet its cult audeince is huge probably bigger than shows that lasted way longer.

And describe how it had a big audience? I don't remember seeing it in the top 30 for any of its seasons.

Not to be rude, but why are you so hung up on ratings? Fresh Prince wasn't a huge ratings winner when it was on NBC, yet it's on N@N.

Because ratings and awards tell how good/popular a show is.

I'm not trying to knock anything.... but a show can have a HUGE cult following, yet bomb with the major audience.

Sorry I don't believe that. Awards are nothing but popularity contests anyways.

Arrested Development isn't a huge ratings winner yet it's popular, same with My So Called Life, it never did that well, yet has a HUGE cult following now, same with Freaks and Geeks, that's why I don't put much stock in awards shows.

As popular of a show as Friends is, it did tend to get snubbed alot at the Emmys. I don't think it ever won best comedy, they mostly won for the acting.

Definitely. I Love owning shows on DVD, But i also like watching them everyday. Putting it in the DVD Player everyday would become very annoying.
