View Full Version : It's a good thing K-mart and Sears merged
GARFIELDKOOL 11-19-2004, 11:33 AM Wal-mart was kicking all their butts. This K-mart near where I live was on its last legs. Every time I went in there there was always more employees than customers. Dead as a doorknob. Sears and K-mart need each other to survive. I remember not too long ago when they were fierce rivals. Now they are the same company. Last week there was talk that Blockbuster video and Hollywood video was merging. I guess Wal-mart ain't playin'.

James"Thunder"Early 11-21-2004, 10:31 PM the one reason they can put other stores out of business is because they have the Supercenters with everything under one roof. so even if they are crappy they are popular, because they are a one stop shop. Kmart just closed two or three stores in my area including the one a few miles from me. they were so strapped for cash they were selling the lighting fixtures and refrigeration units from the food section.

Mine is awful too. But it does keep a lot of people working. I just choose to go across the street to Target.
Though I have to say, thanks to our HUGE, GIGANTIC WAL-MART, our town has no decent grocery stores.
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 11-22-2004, 02:35 AM WalMart is <333. Cept the one up here in Conway sucks. I hate it. I miss Plaistow, Salem, and Epping.
Dutabi84 11-22-2004, 02:41 AM Yeah..it's a good thing they merged. Now they can both sink on the same ship. :p
TheHappyBurgerMeister 11-22-2004, 03:03 AM K-Mart and Sears merged? This is news to me! Well, I always liked K-mart over Wal-mart, personally. Actually I like TARGET over both of those! I LOVE Target!
MaryElizabeth 11-22-2004, 08:27 AM I hate wal-mart and everything it stands for.

I hear ya, I  SuperWalmart. Our is in a great location. Across the street from Target. What I can't find at Walmart, I can usually find at Target.
GARFIELDKOOL 11-22-2004, 01:39 PM I don't care what anybody says, Wal-mart is da bomb!

I like Target best as well.
Wal-mart has possibly the best prices, but it is a chaotic mess and it never fails to make me want to get out as soon as possible.
Target, on the other hand, is a very inviting, clean, ordered store that makes you feel right at home.
spunkygirl 11-22-2004, 01:58 PM I love WalMart and Target, WalMart has the best deals on DVDs, and just the best overall prices IMO :)
Michael [hXc] 11-22-2004, 08:02 PM I live near a Walmart that they were adding a grocery store onto but I don't shop there, ever. Theres also a Target around here which I like much better than Walmart. The KMart around here closed so I just go to Target:D
