Nobody can pronounce my last name correctly. It's Bourdon, pronounced Board-on. Some people pronounce it like Burdon or Borden. If I ever get married I hope it's to a guy that has an easy last name. Like Smith or Jones.

My last name is hard because it has 3 different ways to say it, depending on which nationality you're talking about.

Quick story. My parents were going to name me Elizabeth but decided against it because nobody can pronounce our last name right. Like I said, a lot of people would pronounce it Borden. My mom couldn't get that rhyme out of her head. "Lizzie Borden had an axe, gave her father 40 whacks."

I think my grandmother had a great aunt Elenore - or something like that, and that's how the Lenore got started in my family. I've been told my whole life, if I ever have a daughter, I can name her whatever I want - as long as Lenore is her middle name ;)

my father wanted to name me all these long complicated names that came from his side of the family, but my mom agreed to give me his first name as my middle name. on my dad's side of the family they use names over and over and my mom wouldn't let that happen to me. my brother's name is christopher matthew though, and i picked it for him:)

It's a good thing my mom had 2 girls and not a son. The reason I say that is that if my mom had a son they would have named him Robert Mark, which is my dad's name reversed. In my family both of my grandfathers were named Robert. I also have 2 uncles named Robert and an uncle that married into the family named Robert. Also one of my uncles has a son named after him. So now I have an uncle Bobby, uncle Bob, uncle Robert, and we call my cousin Junior.
