I've gone back and read some of the things that people had to say about the show and I read some things they were definately not true. I would have been okay with it if it was just one or two people, but ALOT of people have assumed horrible things about the show and its cast that I just couldn't ignore. So I made a post to clear up a few things.

First of all, Green Acres is not a boring show. Its just for a certain type of people who like its type of humor. :rotflmao:

Second, its not stupid. As a matter of fact, its very genius if you pay attention to all of the things their making fun of, such as politics and stereotypes. Its much like The Simpsons, which also has been misunderstood. The reality is Green Acres was in fact very ahead of its time.

Third, Eva Gabor was not stupid. In fact, her co-stars described her as a very good actress because of her ability to play a dim-witted character and convince everyone that she, herself, was dumb even though she was very intelligent.

Anyways, these are some assumptions that make me angry. :angryfire If I think of more, I'll tell you. Adios!

*applauds * Thank you, that is a good way of clearing it up. Yeah, I got my own little clearing up thingy to do, if you don't mind, directed at all those "Haney Haters", as I call them.

Okay, first of all, Mr. Haney is not EVIL. He's just a guy trying to make a few bucks is all, by any means possible. You don't ever see him causing any body actual harm in the process of getting rich quick, do you? If he really were evil, he would have blown up Drucker's General Store to get rid of his competition. No as for all of ya'll that saw the movie, well, all I can say is somebody screwed up the script, b/c that poor man was SOOOOO out of character.

Second, he is definitely not STUPID. Actually, next to Mr. Douglas, he is probably the smartest character on the show. You'd have to have some brains in your head to get a New York Harvard graduate lawyer to buy that dump of his! And notice that all through the first season or so, he is able to somehow manipulate Mr. Douglas into buying just about everything he has to offer, because he thought it all through before hand. Like taking everything out of the house b4 the Douglases got there and THEN selling it all individually. And whenever he conned him into buying that milking machine, "permanent waver maker" and other electrical devices. He had said that he purposely left out a strip of land from the deed that he knew would be needed to erect an electricity pole, so that he could have Oliver "over a barrel". So the man ain't stupid, okay?

And as for whether there is a Mrs. Haney or not . . . I have always assumed that she stuck around with him for maybe the first two seasons, and then to explain why we never saw her, I just say she more than likely left him or something, and Mr. Haney was so embarrassed about it, he just never told anyone. Notice he never ever references to his wife after season three. In fact, that is about the time he started trying to get hooked up with Lisa's mother and with that agricultural student that Mr. Kimball liked in that one episode.

(okay, I'm done!)
