View Full Version : Continuous Harrassment
valerie102 11-18-2004, 12:20 PM I'm new to this board so maybe you've all ready discussed this but here goes.
Does anyone have any info on a case where an older souple was being harrassed by someone that they never caught. I can't remember the names but can remember several situations. One was that a rock was thrown through a window or something with a message, they kept changing their number but the harrasser always called them, the wife was assaulted and tied up, and it happened over a period of several years.
This case is always in the back of my mind because it seems like there has to be some reason that these people were being harrassed. UM portrayed them as not being at fault at all but you don't get harrassed for several years for no reason. It doesn't make sense. Anyway, any info would be welcome.
Thanks,
Val
crystaldawn 11-18-2004, 02:32 PM The couple's name was Bill & Dorothy Wacker. I have tried, to no avail, to find out more about this case on the internet. I don't know if they are still alive or if the harassment continued well after the show aired. It would be interesting to know if there were ever any arrests made in this senseless case.
CrushedVelvet 11-18-2004, 06:07 PM On one of the other posts about this couple I seem to recall a poster saying they were from the same town as the Wackers and their name was still listed in the phone book...
magellan333 11-19-2004, 10:54 PM I have never seen this case, but maybe these were two old lonely folks that like the attention the "harrassment" gave them. Maybe they staged it themselves? Like I said, I haven't seen the case, so could this be possible?
CrushedVelvet 11-20-2004, 02:42 AM Nah...from what I remember, the couple was pretty sincere about it. :)
Ninjaman 11-20-2004, 05:01 AM I've said before that I think the husband is responsible for it. That was one theory that the segment brought up.

Of course they could have just seemed sincere- just like those DJ's who staged a fake murder confession and kept up their 'sincerity' even after the authorities and UM itself got involved in the case!:livid:
unsolvedfan4life 11-25-2004, 12:41 AM Yet again one of our favorite topics of conversations, the good old wackers  I personally do not think Bill Wacker was at all involved. He seem genuine enough, and what would be his motive to scare his wife? It does not make sense.
I always enjoy talking about the Wackers. I guess everyone else does too.
ddelta 11-25-2004, 02:57 PM I still can't believe i have never seen this case. I have seen almost every single case!!!
Is it repeated on Lifetime alot??
temptation1979ga 11-26-2004, 12:34 AM Hasn't been repeated as often as of late as it once was...
My favorite UM names: The Whackers and Jim & Jack Weiner. hehee Yes, I know, I'm so mature:)
valerie102 12-02-2004, 09:50 PM Thanks for all the info. I wish there was an update!

You're not alone. Seeing the Jim & Jack Weiner segment would always make me smile. But, you know what they say: great minds think alike. :)

Beetlejuice69 12-06-2004, 02:22 PM The Wacker episode was just on (December 6, 2004). I hadn't seen it until today, and boy was it spooky! I don't think the husband was responsible. His body language, when he talked about himself as a suspect, didn't show any signs of deception. I would hate to think that someone is still harrassing them, 20 years after it started. Talk about a full-time job and too much free time.
