I had this one.

K-Tel Classics won't let you copy images from their website, unfortunately.

Here are some of the records I found in a Montréal used record store that I bought for like $5.00. :)

Believe in Music
Chart Action
Countdown
High Energy
The Hit List
Hot Tracks
Masters of Metal
Night Flight
Raiders of The Pop Charts
Star Collection
Star Tracks

Here are some cassettes from Quality Records and Polytel Records that I got real cheap too:

Formula 30 (Polytel)
Hot Trax (Quality)
Here Come The Hits (Polytel)
Nothing But The Hits (Polytel)
Rock '85 (Quality)
Pop Charters (Polytel)
Too Hot To Handle (Quality)

I always liked the K-Tel commercials, The Robot one was my favorite.

I love K-TEL records!!!!!

I have noticed the NEWER K-TEL records (With a # on them) do not sound as good!!!

I have these now

THE HOT ONES - Excellent sound (No # on the label)

HIGH VOLTAGE - Kinda of low audio, not much bass,etc.... ('18' on the record)

MUSIC MACHINE - Damaged, looking for a replacement (Of the same quality (IE: No # on the label))

HITLINE - Some songs damaged, looking for a replacement (Of the same quality (IE: No # on the label))

Spotlight - A newer one I got a few weeks ago with a # on it (29) -- DOES NOT SOUND GOOD!! (Low level, etc) -- Ill be looking for an earlier copy of this if there IS one, might not be......

Blockbuster - Damaged, looking for a replacement (Of the same quality (IE: No # on the label))

Full Tilt - Damaged, looking for a replacement (Of the same quality (IE: No # on the label))

STARLIGHT - Not good sound (# on the label) -- A replacement for one I had in the 80s

Night Flight - Not good sound (# on the label) -- A replacement for one I had in the 80s

20 Famous Country Hits - Excellent sound (No # on label)

Country Express - LISTED AS "COMMONWEALTH MUSIC" BUT HAS K-TEL's address on the record jacket..... (Good sound) - "18" on the record

Most of these I got in the 80s and didnt take care of :(

The ones I got this year are: Spotlight,Starlight,Night Flight and The hot ones (I have had a few more with #s That I got rid of...... AWEFUL SOUND)

I guess the only GOOD ones I have gotton THIS YEAR are "THE HOT ONES","20 famous country hits" and "Country Express" and man are they good!! (Sounds like the actual album these songs came from)

I dunno what they changed but they went straight to crap in the 80s!! :(

If you still look for K-TEL records MAKE SURE IT DOESNT HAVE A # ON THE RECORD! (Most likely they are re-issues made in the 80s of earlier 70s stuff)

EDIT:

I wonder if this is what happend to them??

After restructuring, K-tel got back on its feet and began releasing more genre-driven collections such as Carolina Beach Music and Masters of Metal. They also released several unscrupulous oldies collections of hits re-recorded by groups with only one or two original members. Worst of all, K-tel re-released many of their greatest Seventies collections on CD with only 10 of the original 20 songs. Given such dunder-headed moves, it's not hard to see how Rhino cornered the repackaging market.

Im really wondering if some of the records (with the K-TEL label) WITH #s ON THEM Are the re-issued VINYL copies and HAVE THE DIGITAL MASTER ON THE RECORD?? (That would explain the crappy quality compared to older K-TEL records))

I have an original K-Tel record in my attic. It was a late 70's collection that was a mix of disco and country pop. I know "I Love the Nightlife" by Alicia Bridges and "Talking In Your Sleep" by Crystal Gale is on it. :)

Sorry, Fellas; but Time-Life Music Collections put K-Tel to shame.
