There will be several of them coming out. The first movie, Alexander (http://alexanderthemovie.warnerbros.com/), directed by Oliver Stone, will be available to the public in next couple of weeks (November 26). I'm going to watch it at my company on Saturday.

Baz Luhrmann will direct Alexander the Great (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327405/), which won't be released until 2006.

I've seen the 1956 version of Alexander the Great, which was pretty good, but I'm not too sure if I would like the new remakes. I think There's supposed to be a TV movie coming out next year as well, but I'm not too sure.

Anybody else looking forward to these films? :)

I'd also heard of a version with Lesley Ann Warren, but I don't know if it's a TV version. Nobody's sure if Baz Luhrman's version will EVER happen now, though I think if he did one, it'd probably be better than Stone's (Stone's a very boring director now- Luhrmann is very skilled).

To be honest though, I'm not excited about any of them. For the most part, I despise sword and sandals epics. They're really macho in the fight scenes and filled with really really bad lines. Plus, I've seen the trailer to Alexander and from that it seems Farrell has kept his Irish accent for the role.
