Unfortunately that episode, like most of the ones made later in the series was pretty lame.

I like that one ok, but you're right, you can tell the show was starting to run out of steam. And Lamont is starting to just be a zombie or something. Seems like he's tired of doing it or something. ESPECIALLY in the last season.

Im not sure during what season it was, but Demond Wilson developed a drug addiction. Maybe that explains his behavior.
