Actually to be technical Robert Reed had colon cancer which caused his death. The HIV may or may not have hastened his death but we do know that when the immune system is vulnerable one can sustain life threatening illnesses. However there are a lot of variables when it comes to cancer. HIV is a fulminating illness that takes years to manifest so he might have had it for a while but apparently he was fine up to the point where he had cancer.
