View Full Version : Madonna says: "Wealth Is Overrated."
Jrnygrl 11-11-2004, 10:23 PM She is famed for being the Material Girl, but Madonna's next book is about how wealth is overrated.
The singer's publisher, Nicholas Callaway, said Wednesday that Madonna will release the illustrated children's book "Lotsa de Casha" next summer.
"All the characters in the book will be animals and Lotsa de Casha is an Italian greyhound who has all the money in the world but no happiness," said Callaway.
"He thinks only of himself."
The book will be the last in Madonna's five-book children's series for Callaway Editions.
The millionaire pop star is currently promoting the fourth in the series, "The Adventures of Abdi." The other books are "The English Roses," "Mr. Peabody's Apples," and "Yakov and the Seven Thieves."

Why is it that those who have money, say it is either overrated, or doesn't bring happiness. I don't see her giving any of that wealth away. And you know she has plenty.
Let them live my life for five minutes and they would change there tune.
I don't care what anyone says, when you have money your troubles do or will disappear.

*MIBabe03* 11-12-2004, 12:22 AM Madonna just needs to go away.
Dutabi84 11-12-2004, 12:40 AM Financial stability is also WAY overrated.
Brent88 11-12-2004, 12:49 AM Madonna is overrated.

I don't like her and all the people that have commented in this thread seem to don't either. ;)

Yep true. I liked her better when she wasn't British.

Janet McFarland 11-12-2004, 05:08 PM Only the rich people say that
If they don't want their money, then why don't they donate it and do something worthwhile with it other then buying yachts and jewelry and stuff they don't need.. but some celebrities actually do donate their money which is awesome :)

*Pleasant Tomorrow* 11-12-2004, 05:41 PM Well, as much of a douche as she is, she's kind of right. When people have everything they want, they get bored with it after awhile and can't find happiness in anything anymore. That's why you don't go out and buy the ****ing world when you're rich. Dumbasses.
Dean Winchester 11-12-2004, 06:47 PM why does everyone here hate Madonna? Yes, she is a hypocrite and yes she is a b-word, but she's always been one of the greatest pop artists of our generation. She's one of the very few 80's pop stars who is still around. As long as each album she releases is good, I'll keep supporting her.
Dean Winchester 11-12-2004, 06:50 PM speaking as a Madonna fan (I am not going to resort to bashing her work).
If she is so anti-wealth, how about lowering the concert ticket prices a bit? I would love to see Madonna in concert, but I will never spend $300 for her when I can see Cher or Janet Jackson (granted, neither of them are quite Madonna, but both are big enough in their own rights to "substitute") for $75
Chelsea 11-12-2004, 07:58 PM Madonna says Wealth Is Overrated?
..Hey, Madonna, care to loan me $10,000?
That's what I thought

Buffy, I have seen Janet live, and she gives you your money's worth.
I have no gripe with Madonna. I have never been a real fan. My problem is when we have a world of haves and have nots, and she says that having money doesn't make you happy, then give it away and don't live in the English castles and vacation in the South of France.
Money would buy me happiness. Not all material, but I wouldn't have to worry about living from paycheck to paycheck. If Madonna was still working in a donut shop she would be singing a different tune.
Nighthawk76 11-13-2004, 01:21 PM Only a wealthy person would say "wealth is overrated." It is easy to say something like this when you want for nothing. Well, if wealth is so overrated, Madonna can start performing for free. That would be a great gift from her to her fans.

You want to know something funny? Madonna used to say in her books and interviews that her father was a hypocrite...I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree;)

Oh come on, she wasn't even born until the late 50s, even I know that. She came out in the 80s.
She annoys me, but I can tune her out.

exactly. I hate the sexist attitude people have. It's perfectly okay for there to be males like McCartney, Bowie, Jagger, Elton, Rod, etc... who can have careers lasting 40+ years... but dare a female have a 20 year career and people will throw "old hag" and other derogatory terms her way because women should "shut up and retire" once the wrinkles and sagging begins.
Moondance 11-13-2004, 04:42 PM No matter what she does in her personal life, I still love her music!:D
I have all her music videos and albums, pictures upon pictures I collected, movies I've seen her in, her children are adorable...but outside of all that, I don't like paying attention to her real life anymore.
Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon looks just like her mum ( ;) ) a.k.a. Lola!!!
