Wondering...

Is there anybody here that has preordered TVDVD's from DDD, and what is your experience with them when preordering? I just did that -- I preordered my copy of Sets 1 & 2 of Pee Wee's Playhouse from there. Do they have it in your mailbox on release day, a few days after or a week after? Naturally, I went with the free shipping option, so I don't know how long that'll take. I'd like to have PWP in my hands before I leave for Denver for Thanksgiving. :D

Others have had better success with DDD than I've had. Twice I preordered stuff from them, both times I got an email on a Friday that the order has shipped, but both times the order didn't arrive until the following Friday. I used the free shipping method the first time. The second time, I paid for expedited shipping, hoping that it would arrive sooner, but no such luck, so I'm through with them. I previously ordred stuff from amazon.com so I might have to place an order through them if I can't find PeeWee in stores on release day. I have a feeling it's a title that may not automatically be carried in every store. I'd even pay for express shipping because I'm that eager to see that show again.

I ordered the sets last week - on a Friday, ironically. So I got the emails then. Both order and delivery (I THINK). So, here's to hoping...

It'll be my first time. I decided to go the online route for PWP because it'll be much too expensive for me to buy both sets when they start selling them in stores. I'm eager to watch PWP, as well. :D

Well, I was wrong. I didn't get my delivery email on Friday.

I just got my delivery email -- today is a Wednesday and it says my PWP DVD's have shipped already, and to expect them between 11-19 to 11-24.

With me, it was exactly a week between the email saying the order shipped and the order finally arriving. That was with free shipping. I'm not sure where you're located but I bet you'll have the dvds pretty soon, certainly earlier than the 24th.

I'm in ND. One of the things we're known for up here is super-quick postal service - it was just on the news last night that ND currently leads the nation with like a 97% delivery rate. First-class post always get anywhere in the state on time. ;)

Who knows - I might even have it by Wednesday next week. I'll be counting on having it before I take off for Thanksgiving. :D

I haven't PRE-ordered anything from them, but I have ordered from them, and even though it takes a week, I don't mind it too much, because it is free shipping, and they have great prices.

I was lucky to snatch up both sets when DDD was offering BOTH sets together...They have since long taken it down from their site...Probably because of the mishap they had when Vashti and I preordered from them, lol. :lol:

I didn't know they removed the two-pack. I'm still hoping they send me each volume and not two of the same thing. DDD makes me nervous.

I'm expecting mine any moment now, shipped through UPS. I couldn't wait, I had to have it today.

*EDIT*- The reviewer had a review copy, so maybe there are subtitles on the final product. I'll let you know for sure when my copy arrives.

Ignore my above post, I got subtitles mixed up with captions (two different things). The set is closed captioned. I haven't watched any of it yet because my portable player conveniently broke down. (The same thing happened when Good Times season 2 came out. I believe there's a conspiracy against me.)

Anyway, it's noted on the package that it's captioned. Looks like a great set. Five discs per volume, each disc in its own slimcase, each with a different cover. They list episode summaries and scene selections. I can't wait to go home and check them out. (I have all my dvd shipments delivered at work, that's where I am now.) PZelda and anyone else getting this should enjoy it.

Subtitles have white words but no black background...captioning has both. :)

I saw the mailman just a while ago, so I'm going to go out and see if I got it yet. *crosses fingers*

Depends on BuffySlayer. If he passes, volumes 1 and 2, the no-frills editions, are yours (for a price.)

I'd swear by Deep Discount DVD's service. I get all IN STOCK items within a week or ordering. I never pre-order, and I'm fine with the free shipping. Unless one is obsessed to the point of needing DVD's like drug fixes, I'd say waiting til a product is in house. Seven days between ordering and receiving a DVD is fine with me. My month long wait from Amazon.com is an experience I will never repeat. Whata mistake! Never order from a third party.:rolleyes:
