View Full Version : Hard decision
TheGreatPretender 11-08-2004, 08:27 PM God I am so stressed out. There is this school I really want to go to, that is a performing arts school. Well it just opened this year and they are not accepting kids from my town just now and I knew it would not be possible to get in. And I heard recently that there was this girl my mom heard about who went to that school and transfered back to her old school, because she was ostracized because she was practically the only white girl in the school. Her mother said she was almost afraid to go to school. This school is in the inner city and my mom said there are some nasty people there. Well anyways my mom got a call yesterday that there is an opening for me to transfer there next semester. My parents are gonna check out the school this week and afterwards I am too. My mom said this is a great oppurtunity for me because I want to study the arts and theater. But after hearing about the situation my mom told me, I'm not so sure. But there are people that said good things about it. But I'm still worried and unsure :o
Michael [hXc] 11-08-2004, 08:31 PM I'd say go for it:D it may take some thought but you really have nothing to lose.
MissZero 11-08-2004, 08:31 PM If this is something you want, then I say go for it. Sure, other kids can be cruel especially when you are different from them but you won't have to deal with them forever. Just think of the positives that could come out of it. I couldn't hurt to give it a try.
Hollow 11-08-2004, 09:13 PM uh you guys, dealing with people like that is NOT easy.

I realize that, my sister went through hell in her old elementary school but she sucked it up and now shes studying one of the most rewarding majors....I mean, if you can make it through the night theres a brighter day ya know?

Thats the point...I can't decide it's either being in a school where I know that I'm safe and I have friends, or having an oppurtunity that will help me pursue my desires. The school just opened and my mom said it would be good in a few years and they would have less problems but the school I'm in now doesn't have that many oppurtunities open to me. The drama program is not that great in the current school I'm in. There are so many pros and cons and I'm so confused and I haven't even seen the school yet.
EmoJoe 11-08-2004, 10:03 PM Id say do whatever you think is best, maybe check out the area before you enroll.

You should probably see the other school and see whether you like it or not before deciding;)

Make sure you check out the school. If you feel a little bit of drama (no pun intended) is worth it then go for it.
robyrob 11-08-2004, 10:36 PM definately check out the new school, and if you DO decide to go there, remember that if feel scared and ostracized, just act CRAZY - people wont mess with you AND it will help improve your acting skills :)
