Hey Guys,

I like the rest of you remember when Growing up Brady first came out. The mistakes made in the episode sections were deplorable! It is as if Barry Williams hardly even watched his own show when doing the book. Where he even came up with some of these blunders (or why?) would be a better question. I was wondering. Most of the errors are in the Episode Guide, so how much has the Second Edition of GUB corrected? What mistakes still remain? Thanks for your help!

Jack

If you go to BarryWilliams.com and go down to the bottom of the page. You'll see a 'Growing Up Brady" words to click on. Click on that, you'll then come to a screen all about the GUB book (and you are right, the mistakes in GUB '92 were deplorable in every way) go down the screen and you'll the 'corrections' word , click that word, and then you'll see a page listing most of the errors in the GUB book both '92 and'99 editions.

Two further points:

1)The mistake page does not mention the misquotes the GUB books make in describimng the pilot episode and goat episode

2)The GUB books do indeed make errors (go to the mistake page and you'll see what I mean)

I can give you an explanation for only one of over 50 mistakes in the '92 GUB book. In ep #29 "The Treasure of Sierra Avenue", (the ep where the boys find the wallet) an old man named Stoner comes to the Brady house to claim the wallet. In ep#31 "The Slumber Caper", Marcia's principal, Mr. Randolph, is wrongly referred to in the original GUB book also as Mr. Stoner. The name Stoner in the description of ep 31 was obviously taken from the guest character in ep 29. Williams got the names half mixed up.

I checked out Barry's site and while some of the mistakes are corrected in the 1999 version, there are several that aren't mentioned at all that are very obvious. As a Brady fan, no disrespect, but Barry must have been stoned (again!) when he wrote that first edition! In the "Shirly Temple" episode, it is well know by anyone who watches the show, that Mrs. Fletcher & Cindy do a rendition of "On The Good Ship Loolipoop" not "Animal Crackers in my Soup!" Yea, the Goat epiosde is misquoted, the Honeymoon Epiosde dialog is wrong. And who DOESN'T know that Fairview High School is Wesdales rival not Clinton! (Clinton, is the name of the grade school) Oh well....maybe we'll see a 3rd Edition soon!
