I wonder what Jerry Mathers thought about having to wear that costume.

It was evident throughout the show's run that Beaver hated girls. In that episode, It showed how much he hated them when he had to kiss his leading lady in the school play.

I think he still thought they were creepy, but I think it was more embarrassment than hating girls. I mean, he was so young...10 or something? I would have been embarrassed to kiss a boy at that age too!!

Brought up an old Little Dutch Boy post. Did I hear Beaver mention Clarence? He says they had all the auditorium chairs and the cafeteria chairs and Clarence said they even had undertaker chairs. Huh?

I didn't catch that--I probably nodded off. I did catch the part when Beaver first learned about the kiss. And he's off to his favorite place--locking himself in the bathroom.

Oh, and I also did catch Miss Wakefield or Wakeland referring to Gilbert Harrison.

It always made me chuckle when Wally did that quivery voice mimicking a frail old woman when he was helping Beaver practice his lines for the play.

Another thing is that girl Victoria seemed to share the same sense of pragmatic resignation as Beaver about having to do the kissing scene. They seemed to be pretty much the same on opposite sides of the coin, and understood how each other felt. Given a few years of maturing ( and extra character development should the show go on more seasons ) it seems Beaver and her would make a pretty good couple.

I know Beaver said Miss Landers not Clarence. He said it fast so it sounded like Clarence.

Yeah Wally was pretty funny with the voice.

Also yes Beaver and Vicky would have made a good couple, later. So would Beaver and Linda Dennison. Maybe he would have been a good match with Angela V. if we knew what she looked like.

And/or if she had a more robust immune system.

LOL yeah she had her problems, and we may not have heard about all of them!
