Sherman was 37 when the Jeffersons first premiered. Isabel was 56 when the show premiered.

I knew how old he was in 75, I'm talking about when I didn't know his age in 75. I'm saying he looked 55 to me before I knew he was 37 when the show first premeired.

I was very surprised to learn the ages of the actors. Sherman looked like he was in his late 40s in 1975, so did Isabel Sanford. Sherman had facial wrinkles at 37 and Isabel had a lot of energy for a woman in her 50s-60s.
