Brandy has left Atlantic Records, for which she has recorded her entire career.

No details were given regarding the split, other than that Brandy requested to be let out of her contract. The artist's four albums for the label have sold more than eight million units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Brandy is said to be in talks with a number of labels for a partnership under which she will release future albums. Her final Atlantic set, "Afrodisiac", debuted in July at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 361,000 units.

Next up on Brandy's plate is a fall 2005 comedy series with Touchtone Television for Fox, which she will co-executive produce with her mother/manager, Sonja Norwood. The artist is also in talks for what are described as "two other high-profile television vehicles."

She also lends a hand on her brother Ray J's upcoming Sanctuary album "Raydiation", due in March.

Hmm, maybe she left because of poor promotion of her last two albums.

so promotion for Afrodisiac is finished? I figured she could release a third single that would change the tide

She rarely gets any airplay...I didn't even know afrodisiac was coming out until i saw it on new releases in the Best Buy circular. As far as I know...stick a fork in it cause it's done lol

true but I can think of many instances where the album initially bombs and then the second or third single catches on and redeems the album. Recently I can think of the last Matchbox 20 album, Disease did OKAY but not what they usually do, and the album faded from the chart fast, and then Unwell came out and that song became huge and the album wound up another hit for them.

Yeah, that pretty much proves it. I honestly thought Unwell was the first single until you just said it was the third. Maybe, they should of gave it another shot.
