Of course I'm getting problems again, but this time it isn't my fault! So, I'm trying to burn a CD, and everything goes as normal. It first converts my files, then copies them. And right when it gets to close disk before it's supposed to eject the CD, it highlights the last song in red and gives me an error. Then when I take the CD out and try to play it in my CD player, stereo, etc., it won't play. It says there's an error on the disk. And I can't for the life of me, figure out what the hell is wrong. Are there any computer whizes who are experienced in burning CDs out there?? Or maybe if there's a place online where I can get help. It's just always one problem after another it seems...

there could be a number of things happening here;
- this could be a hardware-related problem or a problem with WMP, have you tried creating a data disk, or writing to a cd with different software (XP's built-in cd-writing Wizard, or download a trial of Nero 6 (http://www.nero.com/en/631934351031098.php) ) ?

- this could be a problem with the file itself, can you play all the files? after they are ripped/converted to WMA/MP3/AAC ? are the files protected (WMA and AAC files) ?

- could be a problem with temp files/cache, Windows can be downright goofy with how it handles temp files; try delete all the temp files by: open the cd-drive in My Computer, and under CD Writing Tasks, click Delete temporary files. It is important to make sure you have at least twice the amount of free space required to write a cd ( around 1.5 GB ), to giive enough room for the temp files.

some other quick questions that may help solve this:

when did this START happening? have you ever been able to write cd's this way? have you tried different cd-r's? what is the cd-write speed set to? (windows defaults to "max", you can try lowering it on the Recording tab on the cd properties page)
