I am trying to find out which disc the episode where the bum acts like he fell down the stairs and has to stay on fred's couch. Then fred gives him all the beers and catches hi using the bathroom. Just to be accurate, he (Gus) didnt fall down the stairs he supposidly fell getting out of a bathtub that he was sleeping in in the yard. He claimed that Fred pushed him hard and that caused him to fall.

The bum: "I'll never contribute to the NAACP!"
Fred: "And I'll never contribute to the KKK!"

Bum: "What's the chances of having breakfast with you
Mr. Sanford?"
Fred: "Slim and none! Now look, you done spent the night,
had your continental breakfast...now its check out
time."

I love that episode. I've loved it for years. One of my all time fave scenes is when the bum is in the kitchen and he says something like "hmmmmmm . . . that looks really good" referring to the danish that Fred is about to eat. And Fred says "What?" And the bum pats the danish with his hand saying "This one" or something to that effect. LOL! I laughed for years and years remembering that scene. Of course, Fred doesn't want the danish after the bum patted it. LOL! Now that was a classic scene from S & S.

The name is Augustus

The actor who played Gus was Liam Dunn. From what found out he was a very successful casting director how hardly ever acted. The only other two places ive ever seen him was in a episode of All in the Family as a insurance investigator and in the Barbra Strisand movie What's Up Doc. He played a judge.

"A Guest in the Yard" is in my top 10 of fav Sanford and Son episodes, it always cracks me up.
Fred:"let nature take its course, now he has been drinking beer all day and hasn't got up once, he keeps drinking beer like that, hes gonna have to get up SOONER OR LATER."
