This is such an impossible question to answer, because there are so many good episodes. However, my favorites are Law and Disorder, Bobby's Hero, The Not-So-Ugly Duckling, The Great Earring Caper and The Personality Kid.

The episode where Marcia gets hit with the football has always been my favorite. When Greg and Marcia fight over the attic is good too.

I would have to say the episode of Marcia dating the star football player of the rival high school. Greg warns her not to date this guy, because of his reputation, but she dates him anyway, inspite of Greg's warning. So Greg sets a trap for the guy by creating a bogus play book, which he leaves out. The guy falls for the trap and steals the play book. Greg's team destroys the rival high school because they are following the bogus play book.

I am really not much of a Brady Bunch fan, but that is one of the few episodes that I liked.

I am really not much of a Brady Bunch fan, but that is one of the few episodes that I liked.

As I remembered it, after Jerry stole Greg's playbook, the boys are in the bedroom talking about the game coming up.
Mike comes in and gives a Brady Lecture (duration 5.4 seconds) about Fair Play. Then Greg calls Jerry and tries to warn him "Look man the book's a phony".

Amen.

Now Jerry of course ignored him, but the Fairview team Couldn't Use the Phony Playbook. For their Coach Found Out.

When the Grid that is Bunch gets home, they're in the Kitchen that be Formica. It is mentioned by Greg I think that the coach benched Jerry Rogers for swiping the playbook. This signifies that he, the coach, found out about it, so as per Brady Grid Rules, Fair Play was Achieved. For all Brady Athletic Events are Played Under Grid Rules of Order:

Robert (Reed's) Rules of Order

Let's do Brady Grid study on an example of how this works:

Matthew's Brady Diary 16:1

And the Word Came out to the Grid about Greg's wanting to play High School Football through Carol in the Living Room. And Master Mike had talked w/Greg about telling Carol in the Well Living Room Amen.

Matthew's Brady Diary 16:2

And the discussion started about the various injurious agents in Pro Football; yea that one could get Killed Even. The Grid Member Mike told her "these are pros, but Greg wants to play High School Football". Thus Carol, that fairly flip-doed lady, brought up the 2 Ton Monsters. Conversation dwelled on a Brady Lecture as the Nation was Riveted on Roone Arledge's Masterpiece ABC

Matthew's Brady Diary 16:3

Therefore and Verily I Mike say Unto You Gregory (paraphrased from Brady Strong's Concordance): For We Win Gracefully and Lose With Dignity. We Have a Goody Good Time and the Grid is Proud. Expect 2! Cakes after the Big Game Amen. And Blessed Art Thou Gregory For Football is Nourishment to the Muscles...and Righteous to the Bones...and THE Source of Fair Play Synergy! And Carol...Let's Not Be Overprotective (for Mike was a mild chauvanist at times). The Carol acquiesed to Greg's footy career.

So from a past episode which establishes Greg's footy career, we get the point that Sportsmanship is Key to Brady Athletics. When Greg was injured in that earlier ep (ribs) Brady Grid benched him & he became a photographer. Apparantly his ribs healed, so he was allowed to play again. Fast forward to the present:

And so that big Westdale-Fairview game was played Fair & Square. Score was Westdale 21 Fairview 7. Not a knuckle cruncher, but not an M & M er either.

My favorite Brady Bunch episode:

All Of Them!

Amen.

When I was maybe ten, I saw my first episode of the brady bunch--the one where bobby eats all the ice cream--and hated it. So I thought the brady bunch was stupid. Not to mention the fact that it was very uncool to like the brady bunch(this is re-runs, not original airings). Anyway, about 2 years ago, I fell in love with the Monkees' tv show. I just happened to be flipping channels, and heard one of marcia's friends shriek "Davy Jones"...of course, I watched, and decided the show was all right. So, My favorite episode is definitely "Getting Davy Jones".;)

When did you think it was uncool to watch The Brady Bunch? I was born in 1981 and first watched it in 1986 or 1987. That's about the time when the show was revitalized thanks to TBS and the 1988 Reunion movie. If asked what my favorite show was, I would always say The Brady Bunch. I grew up with it and I certainly was not or never will be ashamed of it. However, now, the show has become my second favorite show, with The Jeffersons being number 1.

1. Her Sister's Shadow
2. Bobby's Hero
3. The Dropout
4. Power of the Press
5. Goodbye Alice Hello

And what is unique about them? I believe all of them had Robert Reed's friend Tam Spiva, as script editor. As you all know, Reed was a stickler for realism in scripts and story lines, who was never into comedy and HATED slapstick humor. These episodes actually have IMO, the best quality writing. If Tam Spiva worked on an episode, it's up there with the best of the best of The Brady Bunch.

I also love Peter & the Wolf (I think ANOTHER Spiva Script Editor Story) and Getting Greg's Goat. (I'm surprised Reed directed that one considering the "humor" in it, but it's surprisingly well-done.) I am delighted that Reed set forth his demands to keep realism in the show. In my view, those 5 are among the best episodes written.

When was it uncool? Let's just say that at different schools/towns/states, things are like that. It was back in like 96 or 97 I guess. One conversation in carline in the 6th grade sticks out to me...one girl was singing the theme song, and a bunch of people started talking about how stupid the show was.

My favorite episode is Fright Night where the boys scare the girls with a 'ghost' and then the girls scare the boys.

The Private Ear is another favorite. Which is the one where Peter tapes his brothers and sisters private conversations and tells them to the rest of the family.

The Power Of The Press is another favorite. Which is the one where Peter becomes 'Scoop Brady' and writes an article in the school newspaper.

I have loved Bobby's Hero for years. The first time I watched this episode it become on of my favorites. This is the one where Bobby picks Jesse James as his hero.

Law And Disorder has also been one of my favorites. This is the episode where Bobby is chosen to be the safety monitor for his class.

I forgot to include a favorite episode in my earlier post to this topic!

My Favorite Brady Bunch Episodes

1. Her Sister's Shadow
2. Bobby's Hero
3. The Dropout
4. Goodbye Alice Hello
5. Peter & The Wolf
6. Power of the Press

The reasons are because the writing and situations are realistic and #1 and #2 are particually brilliantly done because of their vividness and emotional power. I commented that "Bobby's Hero's" subject matter is ahead of it's time. (Watch it closely, and you'll get the picture.) The acting by Mike Lookingland in that episode is superb. In fact, if I could pick two epiodes that could be restored to their original broadcast lengths #1 and #2 would be the ones. In fact, watch #1 and #2 for the quality of the writing and acting behind them. You will never look at The Brady Bunch as a "silly sitcom" ever again.
