View Full Version : Off the set of WTB
Lil Micelli 10-30-2004, 12:07 AM I was watching one of Judith's movies today... "Lady Killer" and I realized that if I continue to watch WTB and never watch another one of their shows or what not, I will always think of them as that character. I was watching Judith (as Janice) kiss this other guy and I was like "What are you doing? You're cheating on Tony!" Of course, in this movie, she's having an affair with this guy named Guy. She decides to call the affair off when her husband, Ross, begins to pay more attention to her. Well, Guy doesn't take the news well and he rapes her, then to get back at her, starts dating her daughter. Yeah, I won't go into what happened unless someone wants to know because you might want to watch it (or maybe you've seen the new version with Tom Hanks).
Tomorrow I'm going to watch "A Strange Affair" aka "A Husband, a Wife and a Lover". I ordered them from amazon.com and my receipt said they wouldn't be shipped until today (Oct 29) and I wouldn't get them in until Nov 4-14. But no, I got them Oct 28. Shows how much Amazon knows! LoL!

thats ok. whenever u get around to it. oh i know. i watch law and order svu all the time, and they deal with ppl getting raped. i never really had an emotion toward it ya know? but when i saw judith and that movie i was OMG. and about to cry. i was scared for her. she so gets me involved in everything she does. a movie, show, guest appearance, w/e. i get so into it.
Lil Micelli 11-01-2004, 08:52 PM Okay, "A Strange Affair" aka "A Husband, A Wife, and A Lover" was amazing... this is my summary and review:
Lisa (Judith Light) is a struggling cateror who is forced to return to her cheating, stealing, gambling husband after she leaves him when he has a stroke. The stroke has him confined to a wheelchair, and Lisa is confined to caring for him. She makes it clear to him that their relationship is over, and she moves into a different room to prove so.
When a man comes into her life that she doesn't expect, things get complicated. Lisa admits to herself that she is in love with two men, for she soon finds out she is in love with Art (William Ross) while still being in love with her husband. When Lisa has a hard time making ends meet, Art is there to help her, and she learns how to balance her relationships, until Lisa moves herself and her husband to a ranch house and Art rents out the connecting apartment. The three have to learn to live together and keep their situation in tact. Eventually, Lisa puts Art first in her life, and her husband gives her his blessing.
This movie is nothing short of heart warming. I was laughing and crying and throwing things at the television all in the same half hour. It pulls at your emotions and gets you caught up in the crazy world this woman is living in. Judith Light gives an amazing performance full of life and energy as Lisa. She puts a lot of emotion into her character and you can really see her pain and her joy.
I recommend this movie to every Judith Light fan out there, because it is a doozie!
BTW, if you are looking for the Lisa/Art and Angela/Tony connection, it comes when Lisa has this conversation with Art:
L: Why are you being so nice to me?
A: (quoting something Lisa said earlier in the movie, almost mocking her) Just love me, don't try to understand me.
L: But how can you love me when I never show you how I feel?
I just thought that Lisa hiding her feelings for Art from him paralleled with Angela hiding her feelings for Tony.

Yeah I do that ALL the time! LOL Movies, Books, Fanfiction etc. How Funny. Like if someone is in a movie and they are kissing someone else, I like turn away or am like that should be so in so.

whats the name of that movie?
Lil Micelli 11-21-2004, 02:37 PM Men Don't Tell is the name of it. I don't think I'd like to see JL being abusive, but heck, I've already seen her get raped, have an affair (twice), be an obsessive mother (pretty much insane), kill her husband, try to kill her daughter, and die after two days in the woods running from the police. I think I can handle it. I think this just shows how diverse JL's characters are from Angela. I mean, Angela would NEVER do any of those things! I mean, get raped maybe, but that wouldn't be her choice. Anyway!!!
